Loki Will Finally Revive An MCU Hero After 11 Years To Build The New Avengers Replacement According To Avengers 5 Theory

Summary
  • A fan theory suggests that Loki may revive a beloved past MCU hero to help form a new Avengers team in Phase 6.
  • This theory is supported by the fact that this past hero inadvertently brought the Avengers together in the MCU's Phase 1, and could serve as the perfect partner for Loki.
  • This hero's return would not only redeem Loki of his villainous past, but also provide a major role for a previous fan-favorite actor in the MCU's Multiverse Saga.
One brilliant fan theory suggests Tom Hiddleston's Loki may revive a long-dead MCU hero in an effort to bring together Marvel Studios' New Avengers team in Phase 6. Following Avengers: Endgame and the conclusion of the MCU's Infinity Saga, the status of the Avengers team has been left uncertain, despite many new potential members being introduced in Phases 4 and 5. A new team of Avengers is expected to form to take on Kang the Conqueror in 2026's Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, and a popular fan theory suggests that Loki, in his new role as the multiverse's protector, will form this team, but he will need some help.
Tom Hiddleston has portrayed the Asgardian God of Mischief Loki since 2011's Thor, originally depicted as an antagonist, and going on to lead the invasion of New York City in 2012's The Avengers. While this version of Loki eventually met his demise, his variant managed to escape shortly after the Battle of New York during Avengers: Endgame's Time Heist. This iteration of Loki transformed into a God during Loki season 2's epic finale, adding weight to the idea that Loki will bring together a new Avengers team in Phase 6, but a new theory suggests he'll recruit a past MCU hero to help with this task.

Phil Coulson Is The Perfect Partner To Help Loki Build A New Multiverse Avengers Team Close A new theory posed by Reddit user CCGplayer64 posits that Loki could recruit a variant of Clark Gregg's Phil Coulson to help in his quest to build a new Avengers team. The MCU's current version of Loki escaped from the Sacred Timeline shortly after the Battle of New York, and since the events of Loki are fast-paced, The Avengers presumably happened only a matter of weeks ago from Loki's perspective. During The Avengers, Loki murdered SHIELD Agent Phil Coulson in cold blood, but this galvanized the Avengers, who fought to avenge their fallen friend, so Loki witnessed Coulson inadvertently bringing the Avengers together, and may want to repeat this process.
This may bring fan-favorite Clark Gregg back to the MCU in a major Multiverse Saga role.
If Loki wants to bring together a new Avengers team in Phase 6, there may be no better partner for the God than Phil Coulson. Throughout Phase 1, Coulson helped to recruit Iron Man, Captain America and Thor for the Avengers, and while Agents of SHIELD presumably occurred in an alternate timeline, the fact that Coulson led his own team also supports this theory. From his new position as the protector of the multiverse, Loki could easily pluck a variant of Phil Coulson from a branching timeline and use him as an envoy, and this may bring fan-favorite Clark Gregg back to the MCU in a major Multiverse Saga role.
Phil Coulson’s Return Would Redeem Loki Of His Villainous Past Since The Avengers, two versions of Loki have embarked on redemption arcs in the MCU. The first tried to take on the Mad Titan Thanos and paid the price, but the second achieved his new "glorious purpose" in Marvel Studios' Loki series on Disney+. Loki reviving Coulson would fully complete his heroic journey, redeeming him of Phil Coulson's death in The Avengers. Loki's story came full-circle in Loki season 2, but seeing the return of Clark Gregg's Phil Coulson would take this one step further, and would become the perfect vehicle to bring together a new team of heroes to battle Kang the Conqueror in the MCU's Phase 6.
