Star Of Cancelled DCEU Movie Imagined As The Next Flash In DCU Art

  • KJ Apa, known for his role as Archie Andrews on Riverdale, was originally set to star in the canceled Wonder Twins movie but could potentially be cast as Wally West, a.k.a. The Flash, in James Gunn's upcoming DC Universe franchise.
  • James Gunn is known for using obscure comic book characters in his projects, which could mean that the Wonder Twins, Zan and Jayna, might have a chance of getting retooled as a movie or TV show within the DC Universe.
  • While the Wonder Twins may not be part of the current slate of projects for the new DC Universe, there is a possibility that they could be featured in future chapters, as stated by the DC Studios co-CEOs. The exact plans for the Wonder Twins in the new DC Universe remain uncertain for now.
New DC Universe fan art imagines KJ Apa from the canceled Wonder Twins movie as Wally West, a.k.a. The Flash. 2023 was a significant year for Barry Allen in live-action as it saw The Flash season 9 concluding the Arrowverse show, while The Flash movie with Ezra Miller became one of the DCEU's biggest flops. As the DCEU and Arrowverse are coming to their respective ending, it is still unclear what the exact plans are for the fastest man alive in the coming years.
With James Gunn's DC Universe coming up in 2024, the world is still speculating who will be The Flash in his new franchise. While Barry has been a big focus in live-action for the last ten years, JPH_Photoshop shared artwork where Apa, best known for his role as Archie Andrews on The CW's Riverdale, becomes The Flash, specifically as Wally West.
While Apa has been a fan-favorite casting choice for Wally, the former Riverdale actor was actually set to star in the Wonder Twins movie as Zan. However, when the new regime for Warner Bros. Discovery took over, they ended up canceling the DCEU movie that was slated to come out on Max.
