1 Avengers: Infinity War Moment Has Been Made Much Sadder 5 Years Later

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 pays off the tragic twist from Avengers: Infinity War in the most heartwarming way. Although Thanos snapping his fingers and erasing half of all life in the universe was devastating across the board, it was particularly brutal for the Guardians of the Galaxy. After all, the only surviving members were Rocket and Nebula, something the final chapter of James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy acknowledges quite well.
In Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Nebula is a legitimate member of the cosmic team, something that was first confirmed in Thor: Love and Thunder and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. She's also become a reluctant leader of the team out of necessity, largely due to Star-Lord's ongoing struggles with losing Gamora. Within that new role, Nebula is intensely determined to save Rocket Raccoon, and this directly comes from the aftermath of Infinity War.
