WARNING: This article includes SPOILERS from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.A Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse behind-the-scenes image reveals Donald Clover's costume for his cameo. Miles Morales is finally back on the big screen as Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse officially opened in theaters last week, continuing his animated adventures. After all the hype for the sequel, Across the Spider-Verse didn't fail to surprise the world with major surprises. One of them was Glover's massive cameo as Aaron Davis, who had fully become the Marvel villain, the Prowler.
Glover, who appeared as Aaron David in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Spider-Man: Homecoming, had his costume designed by Trayce Gigi Field, who revealed a full look of the suit on Instagram.
In addition to his suit being revealed, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse writers Phil Lord and Chris Miller spoke to Rolling Stone about how the cameo came about, sharing the following:
Lord: Yeah, it was definitely a personal reach-out to Donald, who we love and stayed close with. We reached out and were like, “We thought of something. It will be so easy. And you commit to nothing.” And he was really excited to be part of it. He loved the first movie. He has kids that he wanted to surprise by having dad in the movie.
Miller: And we did a fun little shoot. And we got Trayce Gigi Field, who was the costume designer for the first season of [Miller’s Apple TV+ series] The Afterparty to build a Prowler suit in a matter of weeks. These things often take months or years to build and she really did an amazing job designing and building something really quickly so we could all come together and get him into the film.
