Sony"s Kraven Movie Trailer Sets Up Another Forgotten Spider-Man Villain

Sony's Kraven the Hunter movie is set to reveal the on-screen origins of Sergei Kravinoff, though the Spider-Man spin-off may feature another classic villain as well. Becoming the world's greatest hunter in the Marvel Universe, Kraven will show how Sergei gained his impressive skills as well as his new on-screen origins where he'll gain genuine powers, allowing him to tap into the essence of various animal creatures. However, it stands to reason that Kraven won't be alone in his hunt by the movie's end.
Revealed in the first trailer for Sony's Kraven the Hunter, Sergei Kravinoff (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) was trained by his criminal father Nikolai (Russell Crowe) to become the ultimate predator. However, a lion attack during a hunt sees Nikolai leaving young Sergei to die. Instead, Kraven will gain powers, embarking on a mission of vengeance to unravel his father's criminal empire. While this will lead to an encounter with Ariana DeBose's Calypso and a teased confrontation with Aleksei Sytsevich aka 'The Rhino' (Alessandro Nivola), Kraven will also interact with another critical Spider-Man foe from the comics: his half-brother Dmitri Smerdyakov, also known as The Chameleon (Fred Hechinger).
