Avengers 5"s Delay Sets An MCU Record That Felt Impossible In 2019

New delays for the MCU have set a record for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty compared to all the Avengers movies that have come before. Intended to serve as a culminating chapter in the current Multiverse Saga alongside Avengers: Secret Wars, it's expected that the next major crossover movie will see Earth's Mightiest Heroes facing Kang the Conqueror and all of his variants across the multiverse. However, it's now going to be even longer before the movie comes to the big screen.
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton with Jeff Loveness writing the script. In terms of the plot, there isn't much that's known about the movie beyond the titular Marvel villain undoubtedly having a role as the chief antagonist. At present, the MCU doesn't even have a confirmed team of New Avengers following the events of Avengers; Endgame which helped bring the Infinity Saga to a close. While the delay of Avengers 5 does create a surprising new statistic for the MCU and its past Avengers films, it's not necessarily a bad thing.
