Mara Jade"s First Canon Appearance Will Be In This Surprising Star Wars Show (Theory)

Before the upcoming Mandalorian movie adapts Timothy Zahn's "Heir to the Empire" book to Star Wars canon, the Jude Law-led Star Wars: Skeleton Crew could introduce Mara Jade as a vital part of the story. "Heir to the Empire" was written by Zahn in the 1990s, as the official sequel to Lucas' original Star Wars trilogy. The story centered on Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Leia Organa - alongside other new characters - battling against Grand Admiral Thrawn who sought to destroy the New Republic.
One of the characters that aided Luke in his battle against Thrawn and the Grand Admiral's minions was Mara Jade, a powerful Sith assassin-turned-Jedi. Mara though - along with the other elements of the "Thrawn Trilogy" - was made Legends upon Disney's acquisition of Lucasfilm in 2012. However, with Dave Filoni writing and directing a Mandalorian movie that is set to adapt "Heir to the Empire" to fit Star Wars' current canon, Mara Jade could be made canon by Star Wars: Skeleton Crew's story in time for the upcoming film.
