Past DC actors have shared their reactions to the new stars being tapped to play their previous roles in Superman: Legacy as part of the DC Universe. With the DCEU coming to an end in December, James Gunn's DC Universe will be replacing the decade-long franchise. The first DC Universe movie that is arriving in 2025 will be Superman: Legacy, starring David Corenswet as the new Man of Steel.
Currently, Nicholas Hoult is set to play the latest live-action version of Lex Luthor in Superman: Legacy, and Sara Sampaio will portray Eve Teschmacher - though the former's casting is as of writing only reported and not yet officially concretely confirmed. With the DC Universe audience excited about the latest casting news, stars who have played Lex and Eve before decided to congratulate the new actors.
Jon Cryer, who played Lex Luthor in the Arrowverse on Supergirl and in the Arrowverse's Crisis on Infinite Earths, stated that he hopes Hoult's deal will go through, as "he would absolutely CRUSH this." The last time Cryer's iteration of Lex was seen in the Arrowverse was during Supergirl season 6, as he served as one of the final major threats for the Girl of Steel.
Valerie Perrine, who played Miss Teschmacher in Christopher Reeve's Superman movies, said she "look[s] forward to seeing this iconic character on the big screen again!" The last time Eve was featured in live-action was on Supergirl where Andrea Brooks portrayed the Arrowverse iteration of the DC villain.
