Every DC Character Who Could Return In The Batman 2 Cast

Summary
  • The Batman - Part IIis guaranteed to bring back its main cast, composed of Robert Pattinson's Bruce Wayne, Andy Serkis' Aldred Pennyworth, and Jeffrey Wright's James Gordon.
  • Characters who are likely to return after the events of The Batman include Paul Dano's Riddler and Barry Keoghan's Joker, as well as Zoe Kravitz's Catwoman and Alex Fern's Pete Savage (in flashbacks).
  • Colin Farrell's Penguin, Cristin Milioti's Sofia Falcone, and Clancy Brown's Sal Maroni will likely appear in The Batman - Part II after their appearance in The Penguin.
Matt Reeves' sequel to The Batman, The Batman - Part II, will likely feature various returning actors and a few new additions to its live-action DC Elseworlds universe. Taking Batman's story back to its origins, Matt Reeves' The Batman took a gritty approach to the Dark Knight's first pursuit of the Riddler, introducing other key Gotham heroes and villains from the comic books. Despite the disastrous aftermath of the Riddler's semi-successful terrorist plan, not many major characters died in The Batman, which means that most of them could return either in DC's upcoming The Batman - Part II, a spinoff like The Penguin, or the final installment in Matt Reeves' The Batman trilogy, The Batman - Part III.
DC has a huge library of characters, and Batman's comic book lore is filled with characters who have either been translated to live-action multiple times or haven't yet had the opportunity to debut outside the comic book pages. Some of them could appear as Arkham patients, others as members of the GCPD, and others as Batman's allies — perhaps even as vigilantes, like one of the Robins. While The Batman - Part II's main villain hasn't been confirmed, there might also be another iconic Batman movie villain on their way to debut in The Batman's first sequel. For now, The Batman's characters and cast members more likely to appear are the ones who already did in the first installment.
10 Bruce Wayne a.k.a. Batman Played By Robert Pattinson Robert Pattinson's return as Bruce Wayne in The Batman - Part II is confirmed, as The Batman's first direct sequel will continue Bruce Wayne's journey as the Dark Knight after learning how to turn his fear and anger into hope instead of punishment in The Batman's optimistic ending. Robert Pattinson's Batman is likely to return with an updated Batsuit and new weapons, and his Bruce Wayne persona is likely to become more open to the public as he tries to make a change in Gotham without resorting to brutal violence.
9 Selina Kyle a.k.a. Catwoman Played By Zoe Kravitz Zoe Kravitz's Selina Kyle fully adopted her Catwoman persona in The Batman, where her best friend's death motivated her to take justice into her own hands despite her lack of experience. Catwoman couldn't take down Carmine Falcone by herself, so she tried to move on by leaving Gotham behind at the end of The Batman. However, Zoe Kravitz's Catwoman will likely return in The Batman - Part II, which means that Batman and Catwoman could reunite soon, although that doesn't mean that they will be on the same side, as 80-year-history has demonstrated.
8 Alfred Pennyworth Played By Andy Serkis More likely to return than Zoe Kravitz's Catwoman is Andy Serkis' Alfred Pennyworth, however, as Andy Serkis' version of Alfred Pennyworth still has quite a lot of untold story to tell in The Batman - Part II. In The Batman, Serkis' Alfred revealed to Bruce Wayne that his father Thomas kept dark secrets and secret enemies nobody else knew about. Alfred Pennyworth's own backstory before The Batman could also be explained in The Batman - Part II, which could establish this iteration of Batman's right hand as the most complex portrayal in live-action.
7 James Gordon Played By Jeffrey Wright Like Alfred Pennyworth, James Gordon's appearance in every Batman movie is almost guaranteed. Jeffrey Wright's version of James Gordon, specifically, has been one of the most active iterations of the character in live-action, as The Batman followed him and the Dark Knight working together to take down The Riddler and The Penguin, shoulder to shoulder. Considering how loyal Batman and Gordon are to each other, Jeffrey Wright is more than likely to return in The Batman - Part II, perhaps in a similar capacity to Matt Reeves' first The Batman installment.
6 Oswald Cobblepot a.k.a. The Penguin Played By Colin Farrell Colin Farrell stole the spotlight in The Batman with his unique portrayal of Oswald Cobblepot a.k.a. The Penguin, a sleazy crime lord with enough influence and wits to escape Batman and the downfall of Carmine Falcone's death unscathed. Before The Batman - Part II arrives, Colin Farrell will return as Oswald Cobblepot in The Penguin, the DC villain's own TV spinoff. Farrell isn't confirmed to return in The Batman - Part II yet, but since Matt Reeves' Batman universe isn't an expansive cinematic universe as big as the DCU, the Penguin likely to have at least a small role in the sequel.
