Summary
  • Smallville actor criticizes Tom Welling's Arrowverse cameo for 'bad writing.'
  • John Glover played Smallville's Lionel Luthor.
  • Welling's Crisis on Infinite Earths cameo revealed Clark Kent gave up his powers.
A Smallville actor thinks there is a major problem with Tom Welling's controversial Arrowverse appearance. Following ten seasons of Smallville, Welling returned after years for a quick cameo in the Arrowverse's Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover. The DC TV crossover event featured an older version of Smallville's most powerful Justice League hero — only there was a major change to the character.
On Twitter, Smallville Lionel Luthor actor John Glover said Welling's Crisis on Infinite Earths cameo was hurt by bad writing.
A DC fan commented that they disregarded Welling's Clark Kent cameo in the Arrowverse as canon to Smallville due to its controversial Clark changes, which led to Glover chiming in. The actor behind one of Smallville's best original characters agreed with the criticism of Welling's Superman return, saying, "Yeah. Bad cw writing."
Smallville aired on The CW from season 6 to season 10 after The WB and UPN merged.
