A recent report indicated another delay for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, yet the film's composer has addressed these worries. The upcoming Spider-Man movie was originally set for a March 2024 release before being delayed indefinitely. The delay to Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse was disappointing to many, especially after the cliffhanger ending of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. In a recent report (via DiscussingFilm), it was claimed that this delay would last until 2027 at the earliest, with Sony having drastically overhauled the entire story of Beyond the Spider-Verse for creative reasons.
Amid such an explosive report, Spider-Verse music composer Daniel Pemberton took to social media to address the rumors. Pemberton, after having worked on both previous Spider-Verse movies, seemingly debunked the report and claimed that the rumors of Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse's continued delay and creative overhaul were simply not true.
Pemberton wisely states that he does not often like to get involved in online speculation, but took the time to put the minds of many at rest. Pemberton claimed that some things on the internet are often not true, something that is admittedly more common in the world of today. Hopefully, this update means the reports of Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse's continued delays and more worrying story overhauls are not true, with the source being someone who directly works on the project.
Why Sony Is Unlikely To Meddle With Beyond The Spider-Verse’s Production Spider-Verse Has Been A Rare Well-Oiled Machine Under Sony's Supervision Close Despite Sony Pictures having a history of meddling with productions, especially both the best and worst-ranked Spider-Man movies, it is unlikely this reality will continue with Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. Secondly, there have been no production issues with Beyond the Spider-Verse's predecessors, Into the Spider-Verse and Across the Spider-Verse. Initially, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse's story was supposed to include that of Beyond the Spider-Verse before the movie was split in two for runtime reasons. As such, the story of Beyond the Spider-Verse has been in development since a sequel to Into the Spider-Verse was announced in 2019. For this reason, it makes little sense for story issues with Sony to present themselves only now, five years after development began.

That, combined with Pemberton's reassurance, means Sony is unlikely to mess with Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse's production beyond the initial delays.
