Tom Holland"s Spider-Man 4 is finally in the works - however, a new trailer from outside the main Marvel Cinematic Universe has setup the multiverse story that would be ideal to build the franchise towards. Everything known about Spider-Man 4 has followed years of speculation, and rumors swirled at one time about a disagreement over the direction of the release. While the ending of Spider-Man: No Way Home set the hero up for a smaller, street-level sequel, the studios involved likely wish for an enormous hit on the scale of the prior film. Doing this in the Multiverse Saga could mean incorporating multiverse elements.
Three years after No Way Home, with no Tobey or Andrew Spider-Man sequels in the works, it is beginning to look like Sony and Marvel are looking to make Spider-Man 4 the next big, multiverse movie. While audiences have grown tired of the multiverse to an extent, the success of films like Deadpool & Wolverine show that when it works well, the audiences will come in droves. Following this, the theories that the next Spider-Man film will have a multiverse plot seem far more likely. Recent updates on another Sony sequel have helped to understand what that plot could be.
Venom 3 Is Introducing Knull, One Of Marvel's Most Powerful Villains The King In Black Debuted In Marvel Comics In 2018 Close The new trailer for Venom: The Last Dance has been released, and features the first appearance of Knull, one of Marvel"s most powerful villains. Knull is a fairly recent addition to Marvel lore, debuting in the comics in 2018 as the creator and god of the Symbiotes. Knull has the power to create and control Symbiotes, hold power over an abyss, and carries a Necrosword. His design and his superhuman abilities are terrifying, which is sure to lead to exciting conflicts in the new Venom sequel.
In Venom 3, it appears that Knull is hunting down those who have fused with symbiotes, seemingly focusing on Eddie Brock and Venom in the film. Coming directly from the symbiotes" home planet, Knull will be fronting an assault on the Earth of that reality in an attempt to take back what is his. In this, there is speculation that Venom could die in the film, or be assimilated back into Knull.
Knull's Mission In Venom 3 Could Lead Him To The MCU A Piece Of Venom Was Left Behind In No Way Home Close If Knull is hunting down Venom, then there is an important component from the ending of Spider-Man: No Way Home that still needs to be resolved. At the close of the film, after being sent into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Tom Hardy"s Eddie Brock is unceremoniously whisked back to his own reality. However, in doing so, a part of his Symbiote is left behind in the MCU. While this seemed to be a tease for the introduction of Venom, it now seems that there is a larger story in the works here.
If Knull is hunting down the Venom symbiote, that will mean that he will need to get all of it back. Whatever occurs in The Last Dance thus looks set to culminate with Knull realizing that the entire symbiote is no longer there in that reality. This would justify Knull traversing realities in search of the symbiote - a journey that would inevitably lead the villain to the MCU, and likely to a clash with Peter Parker.
My Spider-Man 4 Theory Is Tom Holland & Tom Hardy Team Up Against Knull Spider-Man And Venom Need To Appear Onscreen Together Soon Close Many theories of Tom Hardy and Tom Holland interacting have been posed over the years, but pairing the two together to defeat Knull in Spider-Man 4 would be an incredible next installment in the franchise. While the Venom films are ending, giving the character one last chance to team up with the MCU hero would be satisfying for audiences. The threat of Knull is enormous, and may seem outsized compared to much of what Peter has yet faced, but with Venom by his side, their victory seems possible, especially since the MCU has shown heroes succeed against far stronger enemies.
Knull is an incredible villain that could span multiple films, which would pay off the quick crossover from the end of Venom: Let There Be Carnage. With the multiverse involved, this would also allow the Marvel film to include elements from other Spider-Man movies, including the other Peter Parkers played by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. Including all of these heroes in the same film to take on an enormous, terrifying threat like Knull would be immensely satisfying.

There are a number of directions that Spider-Man 4 could go, although this story with Knull might be the best. Hopefully this theory becomes reality when more details of Spider-Man 4 are revealed in the coming months.
