Josh Brolin"s Hal Jordan Casting For New Green Lantern Project Comes To Life In Stunning DC Universe Art

Josh Brolin suits up as Hal Jordan for the Lanterns TV show in new DC Universe art. One of the big projects coming up in the DC Universe's Chapter 1, titled Gods and Monsters, is the Green Lantern live-action series, Lanterns. Set to premiere as an HBO Original, Lanterns will focus on the iconic Green Lantern characters Hal Jordan and John Stewart, and the casting search is reportedly underway. Earlier this week, Brolin was reported to have been offered the role of Hal Jordan on Lanterns, which has yet to be confirmed or denied by James Gunn or DC Studios.
In the meantime, popular artist Arifinity shared new artwork of what Brolin could potentially look like as the legendary DC hero.
While Brolin is said to have been offered the role, it's still possible that he will pass on the Lanterns gig. If that ends up being the case, Matthew McConaughey and Ewan McGregor are reportedly next in line for the Hal character. This report has also not been confirmed or denied by DC Studios at the time of this story's publication.
Could Josh Brolin Actually Work As Hal Jordan In The Lanterns TV Show? Close So far, there have been mixed responses to the reports about Brolin's Lanterns cast offer, with many questioning why the series is looking to portray Hal as an older superhero. According to HBO's Lanterns synopsis, "The series follows new recruit John Stewart and Lantern legend Hal Jordan, two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland." If this is supposed to be a version of Hal who has been a Green Lantern for a very long time, Brolin could actually work for this concept on Lanterns.
