Martial Artist Scott Adkins Suits Up As The DCU"s Batman In Amazingly Comics-Accurate Brave And The Bold Art

An epic piece of DCU fan art shows what Scott Adkins could look like as Batman in The Brave and the Bold. Andy Muschietti's upcoming The Brave and the Bold will officially introduce the DCU's Batman and Robin. As of September 2024, The Brave and the Bold's cast and plot are still unknown, though speculation is increasing as casting updates for other projects in the DCU's "Gods and Monsters" chapter are revealed. For instance, the search for Hal Jordan's DCU actor in the Lanterns series is already underway.
Well-known DC fan and artist Jobhutz shares on X a stunning piece of fan art depicting martial artist and actor Scott Adkins as the DCU's Batman. The picture features a comic-accurate Batman costume with little armor, allowing Adkins to show off his ripped body. Scott Adkins previously played Weapon XI a.k.a. Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine's third act, as well as Kaecilius' henchman Lucian Aster in Doctor Strange. Check out the image below:
Why The DCU Needs To Give Batman A Less Grounded Batsuit Batman Has Spent Too Long As A Gritty And Realistic Comic Book Character In Live-Action Close Ever since Adam West hung up the Bat-cape, most live-action Batman actors have worn heavily-armored Batsuits. Only Ben Affleck's Batman has worn a different kind of suit in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, where his flexible and lightweight Batsuit allowed him to fight with more agility. Despite his canonical martial arts expertise, most live-action Batmen haven't been able to fight the same way the Dark Knight does in the comics, partly because their armored Batsuits are too rigid.
A less armored Batsuit makes sense for the DCU's Dark Knight. After all, The Brave and the Bold takes place in James Gunn's more fantastical DCU — where extravagant characters like the Creature Commandos exist. Just like Marvel's Spider-Man and the Arrowverse's Green Arrow, the idea that the DCU's Batman is vulnerable to stab wounds or gunshots is less relevant than it is in more grounded adaptations such as Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight trilogy and Matt Reeves' The Batman continuity.
