10 Unrevealed MCU Heroes Most Likely To Appear In Deadpool & Wolverine

Summary
  • Deadpool & Wolverine is expected to feature numerous cameo appearances from characters in Fox's X-Men franchise and from the MCU.
  • Chris Hemsworth's Thor has been confirmed to be appearing in Deadpool & Wolverine, suggesting more MCU cameos will follow suit.
  • Characters such as the Hulk, Thanos, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, and Loki, could all appear in Deadpool & Wolverine.
Although there hasn't been much confirmation from Marvel Studios, several MCU characters could make cameo appearances in Phase 5's upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine. After Marvel Studios confirmed that Ryan Reynolds' Wade Wilson, a.k.a. Deadpool, would be joining the MCU on a permanent basis, theories began to emerge that 2024's upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine could include a huge number of cameos from previous X-Men stars from 20th Century Fox's franchise. While the likes of Patrick Stewart's Professor X, Halle Berry's Storm and James Marsden's Cyclops have been rumored, Deadpool & Wolverine could also include cameos from characters from the MCU itself.
New information was revealed about Deadpool & Wolverine at 2024's CinemaCon, with nine minutes of footage unveiling more about Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman's adventure in the upcoming Phase 5 project. As well as revealing that Deadpool will be recruited by the Time Variance Authority to protect the Sacred Timeline, one scene in Deadpool & Wolverine has been revealed that shows Chris Hemsworth's Thor cradling Deadpool's dead body in the distant future (via The Hollywood Reporter). This could mean that even more MCU cameos may pop up in Deadpool & Wolverine, firmly cementing the project in the MCU's main continuity.

The Hulk Deadpool & Wolverine Can Recreate The Hulk & Wolverine’s Epic Marvel Comics Battle Close Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner hasn't been seen in the MCU since the ending of 2022's She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and Deadpool & Wolverine might be the best place for him to return. Ruffalo has portrayed Banner's Hulk in the MCU since The Avengers, and he has seen a huge transformation since then. Banner's appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine could bring one of Marvel Comics' most intense battles into live-action, as Wolverine made his Marvel Comics debut in a battle with the Hulk.
Bruce Banner debuted in 2008's The Incredible Hulk, portrayed by Edward Norton, but he was replaced by Mark Ruffalo from The Avengers onwards.
How Likely Is Bruce Banner's Hulk To Appear In Deadpool & Wolverine? His connection to Wolverine in Marvel Comics makes the Hulk's appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine pretty likely. Ruffalo has also previously worked with Ryan Reynolds and director Shawn Levy, specifically in 2022's The Adam Project, so it's possible that he could rejoin his collaborators in Deadpool & Wolverine. This could be the perfect opportunity for Marvel Studios to bring back the Savage Hulk that audiences have been missing.
9 Peter Parker, A.K.A. Spider-Man Deadpool & Spider-Man Teamed Up In Marvel Comics Close After the events of 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home, Tom Holland's Peter Parker is completely alone in the MCU, and operating anonymously. This means he'll need to build new relationships in his future MCU adventures, and there may be no better friendship to have than that with Deadpool. Spider-Man and Deadpool teamed up several times in Marvel Comics, especially in their self-titled solo series that ran between 2016 and 2019, so it would be great to see this partnership grow in live-action.
How Likely Is Peter Parker's Spider-Man To Appear In Deadpool & Wolverine? Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures have confirmed the development of Spider-Man 4 for the MCU, which may mean that Peter Parker will be left out of the MCU until his next solo adventure. This may make an appearance of Spider-Man in Deadpool & Wolverine unlikely. However, since Parker became a more mature hero in No Way Home, his new tone would fit in well with Deadpool's adult-focused nature.
8 Marc Spector, A.K.A. Moon Knight Moon Knight Has Been Teased For Deadpool & Wolverine Close Oscar Isaac debuted as Marc Spector's Moon Knight in his eponymous Phase 4 series, bringing the antihero into live-action for the first time ever. Moon Knight's brutality fits in perfectly with Deadpool's, so it would be brilliant to see these two, very different heroes work together in Deadpool & Wolverine. Set photos from Deadpool & Wolverine have revealed that the cupcake van from Moon Knight's premiere episode will make an appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine's Void, suggesting Moon Knight himself may not be far behind.
How Likely Is Marc Spector's Moon Knight To Appear In Deadpool & Wolverine? Deadpool has made guest appearances in several of Moon Knight's Marvel Comics adventures, but the pair's disparate ideologies make them incompatible. This perhaps means that Moon Knight won't appear in Deadpool & Wolverine, but the inclusion of the cupcake van may suggest otherwise. Moon Knight also deserves to return to the MCU following his successful debut, and Deadpool & Wolverine may be the perfect opportunity.

She-Hulk She-Hulk & Deadpool Both Break The Fourth Wall In The MCU Close While Bruce Banner's Hulk could make an appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine, so could his cousin, Jennifer Walters' She-Hulk. Tatiana Maslany's lawyer-come-superhero debuted in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and has already established a brilliant connection to Deadpool that no other hero has. She-Hulk has the ability to break the fourth wall, just as she does in Marvel Comics, and Deadpool copied this technique from her. This pair breaking the fourth wall together would create some fantastic moments in Deadpool & Wolverine.
She-Hulk began to break the fourth wall in 1989's The Sensational She-Hulk #1, while Deadpool followed after in 1997's Deadpool (Vol. 3) #11.
How Likely Is Jennifer Walters' She-Hulk To Appear In Deadpool & Wolverine? Similarly to Moon Knight, Jennifer Walters' She-Hulk hasn't been seen in the MCU since her 2022 debut on Disney+, so it's high time she returned to live-action. She-Hulk is a hugely entertaining and powerful hero, and would fit in well with Deadpool and Wolverine. She-Hulk and Deadpool have crossed paths many times in Marvel Comics, so it would be great to see this come to life in the MCU.
6 Thanos Josh Brolin Has Teased Thanos’ Return To The MCU Close Josh Brolin's Mad Titan, Thanos, was featured as the primary antagonist of the MCU's Infinity Saga, but his story seemingly came to an end in 2019's Avengers: Endgame. Nevertheless, Josh Brolin has teased Thanos' return to the MCU, and while it's unclear where this could happen, Deadpool & Wolverine's universe-crossing storyline could be the best place for the Mad Titan to reappear. Thanos' demise left a void that other villains have struggled to fill, so bringing him back could be fantastic.
How Likely Is Thanos To Appear In Deadpool & Wolverine? Deadpool & Wolverine is expected to spend a great deal of time in the Void, where everything the TVA prunes ends up. In Loki season 1, the Thanos-Copter appeared in the Void as a fun Marvel Comics Easter egg, but this suggests Thanos himself may have also been pruned. This creates the perfect opportunity for the Mad Titan to return, and potentially pose a new threat to the MCU.
5 Sam Wilson, A.K.A. Captain America Sam Wilson’s Captain America Has A Major Role In The MCU’s Phase 5 Close Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson embraced his new role as Captain America in 2021's The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and he has since been set up as a major cog in the MCU's Phase 5 machine. Wilson is expected to reappear in 2025's Captain America: Brave New World, and he may play a major role in several upcoming MCU projects. Deadpool and Steve Rogers' Captain America teamed up several times in Marvel Comics, but Sam Wilson could take the latter's place in the MCU.
How Likely Is Sam Wilson's Captain America To Appear In Deadpool & Wolverine? Early promo art for Deadpool & Wolverine (via Reddit) hinted at Sam Wilson's Captain America being included in Deadpool & Wolverine. Deadpool and Sam Wilson teamed up in 2022's Captain America: Symbol of Truth storyline, so there is precedence for these two heroes to join forces. Sam Wilson is one of the primary heroes of the MCU's Phase 5, so Deadpool must be introduced to him.
4 Doctor Strange Doctor Strange Has A Huge Part To Play In The Multiverse Saga Close Similarly to Sam Wilson's Captain America, Benedict Cumberbatch's Doctor Strange has also been set up to be one of the Multiverse Saga's most crucial heroes. So far, Doctor Strange has more experience and knowledge of the multiverse than anyone else, so it would be great to see him appear in Deadpool & Wolverine's multiversal storyline. Doctor Strange is expected to return to the MCU in Doctor Strange 3 and Phase 6's Avengers projects, but Cumberbatch could reprise his role in Deadpool & Wolverine first.
How Likely Is Doctor Strange To Appear In Deadpool & Wolverine? Deadpool & Wolverine will be exploring the vast multiverse of the MCU more than any project since Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Doctor Strange's experience across the multiverse in Phase 4 makes him the perfect character to cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine. This means a variant of Doctor Strange may appear, as Earth-616's version of the superhero is currently on an adventure with Clea.
Clea took Doctor Strange into the Dark Dimension in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' post-credits scene to investigate an incursion.
3 Nick Fury Nick Fury Can Connect Deadpool To The Wider MCU Close Throughout most of the MCU's history, Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury has been the common denominator for many of the franchise's superheroes. The former Director of SHIELD, and current Director of SABER, was introduced in the MCU's very first project, 2008's Iron Man, and has played a key role in many intense adventures. Just as Nick Fury welcomed the likes of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and Black Widow to the MCU, he could also welcome Deadpool in Phase 5.
How Likely Is Nick Fury To Appear In Deadpool & Wolverine? After recent stints in 2023's Secret Invasion and The Marvels, Nick Fury needs redemption in the MCU. Having the steadfast and confident former SHIELD Director bring Deadpool officially into the MCU would be an excellent choice, particularly since Fury is currently investigating the MCU's cosmos and multiverse from the SABER Space Station. This would be a brilliant way to connect Deadpool's upcoming story to the wider history of the MCU.

The Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver The Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver Were Mutants In Marvel Comics Close Although their origin story was changed for their live-action debut in 2014's Captain America: The Winter Soldier and 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron. Wanda and Pietro Maximoff would fit perfectly into Deadpool & Wolverine's mutant-centric storyline. For decades in Marvel Comics, the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver were the mutant children of X-Men villain Magneto. This connects these heroes to the X-Men, who are expected to appear in Deadpool & Wolverine, so it would be great for them to return.
How Likely Are The Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver To Appear In Deadpool & Wolverine? While Quicksilver was killed off, and the Scarlet Witch seemingly sacrificed herself, it's still possible they could return in Deadpool & Wolverine. Variants of these iconic heroes could be seen, and Deadpool & Wolverine has also been suspected to feature a time travel storyline. This means Deadpool may revisit a time when the Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver were still alive, potentially allowing Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor-Johnson to reprise their roles.
1 Loki Loki Is The New Protector Of The Multiverse In The MCU Close Marvel Studios' CinemaCon reveals suggested that Deadpool & Wolverine would take place before the events of the MCU's Loki series. Deadpool will be fighting to protect the Sacred Timeline, which was destroyed in Loki season 1, and replaced with Loki's new Yggdrasil in Loki season 2. Nevertheless, it's possible that Loki, who is now protecting the entire multiverse, could pop up in Deadpool & Wolverine, particularly since his adoptive brother, Thor, has already been confirmed.
How Likely Is Loki To Appear In Deadpool & Wolverine? Loki became the protector of the multiverse in Loki season 2's finale. This may be the main reason Deadpool is allowed to join the MCU permanently, meaning an appearance from Loki is likely in Deadpool & Wolverine. Of course, Loki has a huge responsibility now, so he may not have the time to aid in Deadpool and Wolverine's adventure, but it would still be wonderful to see Tom Hiddleston return in the MCU's Phase 5.
Deadpool & Wolverine R Action Sci-FiComedySuperhero A sequel to the highly successful Deadpool and Deadpool 2 starring Ryan Reynolds as the Merc with a Mouth. The third film will be the first film in the franchise to be developed under the Marvel Studios banner following Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox. Ryan Reynolds is returning to play the character, alongside Hugh Jackman, reprising his Wolverine role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for the first time.
