Matt Murdock's new MCU superhero suit in Marvel Studios'
Daredevil: Born Again is still missing one major detail from his costumes in Marvel Comics. Charlie Cox first appeared as Matt Murdock's Daredevil in his self-titled Marvel Television series back in 2015, but after Daredevil and the Defenders Saga's cancelation, Cox's future as the Devil of Hell's Kitchen was unclear. Cox soon returned as Daredevil in the MCU, however, making cameo appearances in Spider-Man: No Way Home, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and Echo prior to starring in Marvel Studios' upcoming Daredevil: Born Again series opposite Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk, a.k.a. Kingpin.
Now having made several appearances in the MCU,
Matt Murdock has had the opportunity to sport variations on his traditional Daredevil costume. In Marvel Television's Daredevil, Murdock donned a red-and-black suit of armor, fit with a horned helmet. The same design was retained for his suits in the MCU, as Echo saw him in a strikingly similar outfit, while She-Hulk: Attorney at Law changed the color palette to a vibrant red-and-gold. Now, new set photos from Daredevil: Born Again reveal that Daredevil will get yet another new costume, but there's one Marvel Comics detail that every live-action variation has omitted.

Daredevil’s Suit Still Doesn’t Have The “DD” Logo Close Following Daredevil: Born Again's creative overhaul, set photos from the series' restarted production confirmed that Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson and Wilson Bethel are returning as Karen Page, Foggy Nelson and Benjamin Poindexter's Bullseye, respectively. Images have also revealed a new love interest in Margarita Levieva's Heather Glenn, but more recent Born Again set photos provide a first look at Bullseye and Daredevil's new MCU costumes. While these are exciting reveals, many have noticed that
Daredevil's new suit still doesn't feature the iconic "DD" logo from Marvel Comics, something that each of Charlie Cox's Daredevil suits have neglected to include.
During the MCU's Multiverse Saga, many superheroes have received comic-accurate upgrades to their superhero suits. This includes the likes of the Scarlet Witch, Sam Wilson's Captain America, Ms. Marvel, Spider-Man, Moon Knight and Hawkeye, among many others. This raises the question as to why Marvel Studios is still avoiding giving Daredevil his fully comic-accurate superhero suit, fit with his signature "DD" logo adorning his chest. The MCU's Phase 5 has given many heroes comic-accurate costumes, but there may be one clear reason explaining why Daredevil isn't one of them.

One of the issues with adapting comic-accurate costumes into the live-action MCU is that, all too often, Marvel Comics' superhero costumes simply look ridiculous. Jokes have been made at the expense of Marvel Comics' costumes in the past, such as in WandaVision's Halloween-themed episode, which saw the Scarlet Witch, Vision and Quicksilver sporting their comic-accurate suits, and in Netflix's Jessica Jones, where the titular hero refuses to don her Jewel outfit.
Daredevil: Born Again is expected to continue Daredevil's dark tone, so
including the "DD" logo may detract from this grounded nature, so it's perhaps best to omit it completely.
