Paul Bettany Opens Up About Agatha All Along, Teases Vision Quest Connection

Marvel"s Vision, Paul Bettany recently opened up about his take on Agatha All Along as well as his upcoming MCU series, Vision Quest. Bettany first started playing Vision in Avengers: Age of Ultron, playing supporting roles in subsequent crossover films before becoming a co-lead in WandaVision, despite his character"s death in Avengers: Infinity War. The latter series followed Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, her husband Vision, and their twin sons, with the major twist being that the latter three were created by Wanda"s reality-warping powers.
However, while Wanda was trapped in a false reality of her own making, Vision"s body was being rebuilt elsewhere. This new, all-white Vision clashes with Wanda"s Vision and is given the original Vision"s memories, before taking off to destinations unknown. He has not been seen in the MCU since, but Bettany will star as this iteration of the character in Vision Quest. Another WandaVision spinoff, Agatha All Along, premiered this fall, and it has the potential to alter Vision"s trajectory in the MCU because it brings back one of Vision"s sons, Billy Maximoff/WIlliam Kaplan/Wiccan.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Bettany gave his opinion on Agatha All Along: "I love it. I love it and I’m so proud of [showrunner] Jac Schaeffer and I am going to watch again because there’s so much for me to learn moving forward into my contribution." Notably, Schaeffer was also the showrunner for WandaVision, so Bettany has worked with the writer before.
What Paul Bettany's Agatha All Along Comments Mean Close Aside from giving a positive review of Agatha All Along, Bettany"s comments bring up an important, less discussed aspect of how it affects Vision Quest. Most of the conversation surrounding the reveal of Wiccan has focused on whether Wanda could return or whether Billy"s quest to bring back his twin Tommy will be successful, but the return of Billy has the potential to affect Vision"s story in the MCU as well.
Related The MCU has finally introduced Wiccan, but where's Speed? Thanks to Agatha All Along episode 5, the MCU has finally debuted its version of Wiccan, son of the Scarlet Witch. While much more still needs to be answered about Wiccan and where he came from, I"m also curious about his twin brother Speed. In the comics, teenagers Billy Kaplan (Wiccan) and Tommy Shepard (Speed) were the reincarnated sons of Wanda Maximoff after she lost them when they were children. While Speed could perhaps come back by the end of Agatha All Along, I could easily see him making an appearance in 2026"s Vision Quest, WandaVision"s other spin-off series currently in development.
After all, he is his father. If Billy sticks around as a member of the Young Avengers or even as an actual Avenger, his path may cross with Vision, something Bettany could be inadvertently teasing.
Our Take On Paul Bettany's Agatha All Along Comments Close While Bettany"s comments on Agatha All Along could indicate that Wiccan and Vision will be reunited or that Scarlet Witch might have a bigger presence in Vision"s story, that is just idle speculation. Naturally, the actor would want to stay caught up on a spinoff from a show he starred in, especially if he is also getting a sequel to the same series. As for revealing any further details about Vision Quest, Bettany said the team is "cooking up something that he"s really excited about,” but he could not disclose more information because “snitches end up in ditches.”
While Vision Quest isn"t set to be released until 2026, Agatha All Along will conclude this week. Its final two episodes drop on Disney+ on October 30 at 9PM ET.
