10 Biggest Venom: The Last Dance Spoilers

Warning! Spoilers ahead for Venom: The Last Dance.
Sony"s Venom: The Last Dance presents a huge climax to Eddie Brock and Venom"s journey with an epic battle between symbiotes and an army of Xenophages, several sacrifices, and the promise of a huge Marvel event in the near future. Sony"s Spider-Man Universe kicked off with Venom, which introduced Eddie Brock and the titular symbiote without any links to Spider-Man. Venom: Let There Be Carnage continued to establish Venom as an anti-hero of his own, and Venom: The Last Dance ends the Venom trilogy with the man and the monster parting ways as their adventure comes to an early end.
Although Venom: The Last Dance doesn"t feature any Spider-Man, the threequel expands its Marvel lore with the introduction of the prison planet Klyntar, its prisoner and ruler Knull, and Knull"s servant creatures "Xenophages". Marvel"s Knull and Klyntar are key to Venom"s story, as Knull is the prime ancestor of all symbiotes, and Kylntar threatens to conquer and destroy the whole universe if the Xenophages successfully bring Venom"s codex to Knull. Knull fails to use Venom"s codex to break free from Klyntar, but that doesn"t mean the universe is safe from his desire for revenge.
10 Venom Dies To Save The World From Knull Venom Makes The Ultimate Sacrifice To Protect Earth And Eddie Brock From Knull's Invasion Close The biggest twist in Venom: The Last Dance is the fact that Venom sacrifices his life in order to defeat the Xenophages that are hunting him down. After fighting a single Xenophage for most of the movie"s runtime, Venom and Eddie Brock find themselves cornered at the Area 51 research facility by multiple Xenophages. Almost every human and symbiote who joined the fight fell victim to the creatures, which keep reassembling their bodies every time they"re hurt. Realizing the Xenophages are almost invincible, Venom makes the decision to absorb them and drop acid on himself.
Related Wait, Is [SPOILER] Really Dead After Venom: The Last Dance?! Venom: The Last Dance features a shocking turn when one of the movie"s characters sacrifices themselves for others. We break down what it means.
Before executing his plan, Venom says goodbye to Eddie Brock and places a shield on him, telling him that it will only be a goodbye "for now". This line not only acknowledges a previous exchange between Eddie and Venom, but also suggests that there"s still hope of a reunion in the future. After all, Venom is also very hard to kill completely in the source material, and Venom: The Last Dance"s second post-credits scene teases Venom"s return with a cockroach heading to the canister that held a piece of symbiote Venom left behind in the bar at the beginning.
9 Eddie's Criminal Record Is Expunged And He Goes To NYC Eddie Brock Is Free To Rebuild His Life In New York City Under One Condition Close Besides the two scientists that helped Venom fight the Xenophages, Eddie Brock is the only survivor of the Area 51 incident. And even though Orwell Taylor dies before acknowledging Eddie Brock"s courage, the government does take notice of Eddie Brock"s bravery, which earns him a total record wipe and a second chance to have a rather normal life after his adventures with Venom. Eddie Brock is visited by a high-ranking officer, who informs him that his criminal record is expunged — under the condition that he doesn"t reveal what actually happened at Area 51.
Venom: The Last Dance"s post-credits scenes tease more to come for Sony"s Spider-Man Universe
At the end of Venom: The Last Dance, Eddie Brock chooses to travel to New York City as a heartfelt tribute to Venom, who wanted to see the Statue of Liberty before his death. Eddie remembers his time with Venom as he walks through NYC until he sees the Statue of Liberty. Once there, the film ends, and Venom: The Last Dance"s post-credits scenes tease more to come for Sony"s Spider-Man Universe and possibly the MCU as well.
8 Juno Temple's Dr. Payne Bonds With The Symbiote Agony Dr. Payne Is The Only Character Able To Retain Her Symbiote Close Venom: The Last Dance introduces Juno Temple"s Dr. Payne with a dream flashback to her childhood. According to the flashback, she witnessed her brother get struck by lightning, which also burned her left arm. Dr. Payne grabs a small sample of a symbiote while defending the symbiotes from Orwell Taylor and helping Eddie Brock fend off the Xenophages. After her colleague loses her symbiote to one of the creatures, Dr. Payne breaks the canister and lets the symbiote take over her body. As a result, the symbiote Agony is born.
Apparently, the symbiote that takes over Dr. Payne"s colleague "Christmas" is Lasher, who sports a green-and-red color scheme in some of his comic book appearances.
In the comics, Agony and four of her fellow symbiotes are used by the Life Foundation as bodyguards. Instead of a scientist, however, Marvel Comics" Agony initially chooses security officer Leslie Gesneria as her host. Some time later, Agony bonded with Lieutenant James Murphy. Agony is also known for merging with her fellow symbiotes to create a super-symbiote called Hybrid.
7 Eddie Brock Kills Someone For The First Time Eddie Brock Feels Remorseful About Killing Someone Consciously (In Self-Defense) Close Venom and Eddie Brock are pursued through the desert by a Xenophage, who can track Venom"s codex only when Venom fully takes over Eddie"s body. Therefore, Eddie must travel as himself, and Venom can only assist Eddie with his tentacles and head. At one point, the military arrives to capture them, which forces Venom to transform and thus call the Xenophage"s attention. A free-for-all battle ensues in a river, causing Venom and Eddie to separate. Venom tries to jump back onto Eddie"s body, while Eddie fights off two soldiers. Eddie incapacitates one of the soldiers, but he"s then forced to shoot the other with his own weapon.
During the battle at the river, Venom bonds with fish and a toad, which help him get closer to Eddie.
After surviving the battle and reuniting with Venom, Eddie Brock is deeply affected by his decision to kill the soldier. Eddie can"t shake off the image of the soldier"s face, and he regrets having to use lethal force to defend himself. Up until this point, Eddie only relied on Venom to kill his enemies, which evidently allowed Eddie to transfer the guilt of killing onto the symbiote. However, pulling the trigger by himself is an entirely different story.
6 An Army Of Symbiotes Fights Xenophages At Area 51 Xenophages Are Almost Impossible To Defeat, Even By Symbiotes Close Venom: The Last Dance"s final battle isn"t only limited to Venom, the miliary, and the Xenophages. At least six symbiotes are also guarded under Area 51, kept for research as the U.S. government investigates extraterrestrial life. When the fight breaks out, the two heroic scientists release all the symbiotes, which bond to some of the workers and attack the Xenophages. Unfortunately, most of the symbiotes and their hosts die quite quickly, including Patrick Mulligan and his symbiote, Toxin, who provided the intel on Knull and his minions.
Related Venom: The Last Dance Cast Guide: Every Marvel Character Explained Venom: The Last Dance promises an exciting conclusion to Sony"s antihero movie trilogy, which is supported by its currently confirmed cast members.
Each symbiote has a special ability. For instance, one of them seems to be especially strong, while others can create more intricate weapons. Toxin can fly, and Agony has super speed and lightning abilities. However, most of these symbiotes are no match for the Xenophages, who can easily kill the symbiotes by eating them and pulverizing them with the saw-like teeth in the back of their heads. In the end, only Agony survives.
5 Knull Is Imprisoned In The Void And Needs A Codex To Escape Knull Can Only Escape From Klyntar If He Collects Venom's Codex Close Venom: The Last Dance establishes that Knull has been imprisoned on Klyntar for eons, and that he has been trying to escape with the help of the Xenophages. According to Venom and Toxin, Knull can only escape Klyntar when he acquires a codex, which comes into existence when a symbiote resurrects its hosts following their death. Since Venom resurrected Eddie Brock during the events of Venom, Venom has been holding the key to Knull"s escape for around a year.
It"s possible that a new codex will be created if Agony ever resurrects Dr. Payne
Knull"s story in Venom: The Last Dance follows his Marvel Comics story quite close. Similarly to the source material, Venom: The Last Dance"s Knull is also the creator of the symbiotes, betrayed by them when they gained free will. Following Venom: The Last Dance"s exposition on codices, it"s possible that a new codex will be created if Agony ever resurrects Dr. Payne, or if Carnage were to return and bring Cletus Kasady back with him. After all, a resurrected Carnage is key to Knull"s escape from Klyntar in the comics.
4 Eddie Brock Has A Short Stay In The MCU Venom: The Last Dance's Opening Scene Takes Place In The MCU's Main Timeline Close Venom: The Last Dance opens with Eddie Brock talking with Cristo Fernandez"s bartender about Thanos and the Infinity Stones, right after Spider-Man: No Way Home"s post-credits scene. Just like that post-credits scene showed, Eddie Brock is sent back to his home timeline, where he meets an almost exact copy of the same bartender. However, this version of the bartender doesn"t know who Thanos is. He"s also shocked when he sees Venom"s tentacles brewing Eddie a cocktail, and even more so when the authorities come to confiscate a piece of symbiote Venom left behind.
The MCU"s Earth-616 remains symbiote-less, at least until Spider-Man 4 reveals otherwise
Venom: The Last Dance gives Spider-Man: No Way Home"s post-credits scene an entirely new meaning. Whereas Spider-Man: No Way Home suggested that Venom had left behind part of himself in the MCU"s main timeline, Venom: The Last Dance confirms that he did so in Sony"s Spider-Man Universe. Venom: The Last Dance"s post-credits scene reveals that the bartender survived the Area 51 battle and escaped the facility, while the piece of symbiote probably latches onto a cockroach and escapes. Hence, the MCU"s Earth-616 remains symbiote-less, at least until Spider-Man 4 reveals otherwise.
3 Knull Is Revealed As The King In Black Knull's Actual King In Black Storyline Is Only Teased At The End Of Venom: The Last Dance Close Knull attempts and fails to retrieve a codex from Venom in order to escape from Klyntar in Venom: The Last Dance, but that"s only the beginning of his story. In Venom: The Last Dance"s ending, Knull vows to escape his prison and conquer the universe, proving why he"s known as "the King in Black". Curiously, Knull never meets any other characters in Venom: The Last Dance. In fact, Knull doesn"t even get up from his chair during the whole movie. But that only suggests that Knull"s first appearance is just the start.
Related Venom 3's Newest Knull Reveal Makes Two Unnecessary Marvel Villain Deaths Even Worse Venom: The Last Dance"s Knull introduction proves that Sony"s Spider-Man Universe and the MCU killed off two big Marvel villains far too early.
In the comics, Marvel"s King in Black storyline sees Knull successfully escape from Klyntar and attempt to take over the Earth. The Avengers, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men join forces to fight Knull and his army, while Venom is chosen as a new host by Captain Universe and defeats Knull with special help from the Silver Surfer. As a result, Venom becomes the new King in Black. In order to adapt this storyline, Sony and Marvel may need a new multiversal crossover and a Venom resurrection, which is all unlikely but not impossible at this point.
2 Eddie And Venom Go On A Road Trip (Sort Of) Eddie Brock And Venom Meet Two Familiar Faces While Escaping From The Xenophages Close All Eddie Brock wants to do after the events of Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Spider-Man: No Way Home"s post-credits scene is to find a place to rest and recover. However, the authorities start to track him down after Venom kills a gang in Mexico, and the Xenophage forces Eddie and Venom to change their plans to travel to New York and change direction in favor of Las Vegas. Since Eddie can"t give full control to Venom without alerting the Xenophage, Eddie and Venom have to travel by foot. Luckily for them, they come across a kind family who wants to visit Area 51, and they later bump into Mrs. Chen in a casino in Las Vegas.
The extremely similar bartender variants at the beginning of Venom: The Last Dance serves as a clear yet subtle explanation for Orwell Taylor"s resemblance to the MCU"s Baron Mordo and Martin Moon"s resemblance to Curt Connors: they just happen to look like other characters in the Marvel multiverse.
Eddie and Venom befriend the family and later save them from the Xenophages when the family breaks into Area 51. The father, Martin Moon, is played by Rhys Ifans, who previously played Dr. Curt Connors a.k.a. the Lizard in The Amazing Spider-Man and reprised his role in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Ifans" new character has no connections to the Lizard, however. Meanwhile, Mrs. Chen"s friendship with Eddie gives him a place to rest, but Venom"s carefree personality leads him to transform and bring the Xenophage directly to Mrs. Chen, who barely makes it out alive.
1 There's No Spider-Man Appearance In Venom 3 Spider-Man Doesn't Appear At Any Point In Venom: The Last Dance Close While Spider-Man"s tinkering with the multiverse is what leads Eddie Brock and Venom to be transported momentarily to the MCU"s Earth-616, Tom Holland"s Spider-Man doesn"t play any role in Venom: The Last Dance. Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield"s Spider-Men are also completely absent from Venom"s final adventure, and no other Spider-Man variant is mentioned. As it stands, then, the Venom trilogy concludes with minimal references to Spider-Man, including Venom"s iconic white emblem, which the anti-hero always sports on his chest in the source material.
It"s still technically possible for Venom to meet Spider-Man in the future
Given that Eddie Brock is in New York City, Knull promises to return, and a piece of symbiote appears to have survived the Area 51 battle, it"s still technically possible for Venom to meet Spider-Man in the future. Perhaps the symbiote regenerates into a full-size Venom and reunites with Eddie Brock. Meanwhile, Spider-Man"s potentially multiversal adventure in the MCU"s upcoming Spider-Man 4 could open new portals between timelines, which could allow Eddie Brock and Venom to finally meet Tom Holland"s Spider-Man and join forces in order to defeat Knull in a live-action adaptation of Marvel Comics" King in Black storyline.
