Keanu Reeves has recently talked about his dream
Marvel Cinematic Universe roles, and details concerning Ironheart and other Marvel projects may provide the perfect opportunity to introduce him. Reeves recently revealed his MCU casting dreams, with
the Silver Surfer being one of the characters he would be interested in playing. With a different Surfer set to debut in The Fantastic Four: First Steps, this may not be likely anytime soon. However, there is another prominent role he expressed the same interest in playing that could appear in the near future.
With the actor being generally beloved, fan casting Reeves in many Marvel franchises including X-Men has been common through the years. The actor has a unique screen presence and an incredible ability to blend in with striking genre work.
From Speed to The Matrix to John Wick, Reeves has faded in and out of some of the highest-profile success in all of Hollywood and would be an excellent addition to the Marvel Universe in almost any role. Fortunately, one of the roles he wants seems to be up for grabs.
The Hood's MCU Introduction Is A Perfect Excuse To Bring Ghost Rider Into The Franchise Parker Robbins Has A Huge Connection To The Spirit Of Vengeance Close Keanu Reeves should play Ghost Rider in the MCU. The latest reel from Marvel Television was recently released, and it gave the best look yet at Ironheart"s cast, including Anthony Ramos as Parker Robbins, also known as The Hood. Notably,
in recent comics, The Hood has received the Spirit of Vengeance and has become Ghost Rider. This connection could link to the Marvel Cinematic Universe story and introduce that spirit to the larger world. With The Hood set to be the villain of the series, it is unlikely that he will end the show as Ghost Rider.
With that said,
introducing that spirit, and then linking it to Johnny Blaze, would be an excellent way to introduce Keanu Reeves in the role in the larger Marvel Universe, even if this is only a small appearance. For years, audiences have been waiting for an excellent Ghost Rider adaptation, with Johnny Blaze being perhaps the highest-profile character that the MCU has not yet adapted. The hero would fit in well with the direction of the universe, as well as into larger ensembles.
Why The MCU Needs Keanu Reeves' Ghost Rider The Actor Could Be An Excellent Addition To Marvel Close Keanu Reeves" Ghost Rider would be an exciting shot of energy into the franchise, especially as the MCU looks to explore its spiritual side.
Many believe that projects like Blade and Werewolf By Night are leading to a Midnight Sons movie, and Ghost Rider is one of the many possible candidates for a Midnight Sons team. Bringing in a huge star like Reeves to the role would only help to make this franchise feel more important, and give the MCU an excellent direction to work toward.
Marvel has tried to set up additional teams besides the Avengers in the franchise, and it is unclear how well that will pay off.
Thunderbolts* will be perhaps the biggest test of this yet, with the MCU still seemingly setting up a Young Avengers project. However, following on the success of Agatha All Along, assembling a darker and more spiritual team in the series could be an excellent way for the franchise to move forward in an unusual and compelling way that does not feel like a rehash of The Avengers.
The Multiverse Saga Is The Perfect Place For A Ghost Rider Introduction The Saga Needs More Marvel Characters Audiences Love Close Everything known about Ironheart suggests that the series will contend with the spiritual side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the expansion of that into the multiverse would be a natural fit.
Many projects in the MCU have failed to stir up excitement for new characters like Spectrum and Ms. Marvel, and finding a place to bring a new and compelling hero in during the Multiverse Saga, leading into Avengers: Secret Wars, feels important. Featuring Reeves as part of the ensemble would help to further the status of these upcoming films as must-see events.
Marvel does need new characters to be introduced in this phase, but it needs to do it in ways that excite the audience.
While Moon Knight was generally well received, there does not appear to be much anticipation for that character"s return. Instead, a Keanu Reeves Ghost Rider could explore an entirely new side of the MCU while bringing in casual and engaged fans alike. The actor taking on the role could be the most exciting character introduction yet in what has been considered a mostly underwhelming saga.
Related Who should play the MCU's Ghost Rider? The Marvel Cinematic Universe has yet to debut its version — or versions — of Ghost Rider. However, with projects like Werewolf by Night and the upcoming Blade movie, the franchise"s supernatural corner should expand in the coming years, and Ghost Rider is a likely character to make the cut. Many actors have made it clear that they would love to play the new Ghost Rider, including the likes of Norman Reedus, Keanu Reeves, and Ryan Gosling. All three would be excellent picks for the character, but based on his The Walking Dead role as Daryl Dixon, Reedus seems like the ideal Ghost Rider.
Keanu Reeves would be an asset to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in virtually any role, and it is exciting that there is some hope of him joining the franchise. Whether in Ironheart or another project,
Ghost Rider is also a character who could have a long and exciting life in the MCU. Putting Reeves and Johnny Blaze together could create one of the most exciting character introductions in the entire
Marvel Cinematic Universe history, and could lead to many exciting and fresh stories in the near future.
