1 MCU Show Is The Perfect Way To Bring Jessica Jones Back (It"s Not Daredevil)

Thanks to the multiverse and the expansion of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel is finally bringing back characters from the Netflix TV shows and making them an official part of the MCU, and there’s one upcoming TV show that is the perfect way to bring Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) back, and it’s not Daredevil: Born Again. Spider-Man: No Way Home arrived with a bunch of surprises, and one of them was the appearance of Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), which although brief, marked his official introduction to the MCU, which was followed by a supporting role in She-Hulk: Attorney At Law and the announcement of his own TV series, Daredevil: Born Again.
Daredevil’s return has fueled speculation about other characters from Netflix’s Marvel shows returning as part of the MCU, and the announcement of Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle/The Punisher joining Murdock in Daredevil: Born Again has given more hope for characters like Jessica Jones and Luke Cage (Mike Colter) to also join the MCU. Ritter surely is aware of this, and she has subtly teased her possible return on social media, and if Jessica Jones is really coming back, the MCU already has the perfect TV show for that: Secret Invasion.
How Secret Invasion Can Bring Jessica Jones Back Secret Invasion is the first TV series in the MCU’s Phase 5, and it’s based on the comic book storyline of the same name. The series will follow Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) as he uncovers a conspiracy after discovering that a group of Skrulls has infiltrated Earth in positions of power around the world. Fury will then recruit Everett K. Ross (Martin Freeman), Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders), and Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) to confront the Skrulls and save humanity. In the comics, Jessica Jones was part of the Secret Invasion event, though not in a big role, as she joined the heroes’ fight against the Skrulls after a Skrull posed as her, but after the Skrulls surrendered, a Skrull disguised as JARVIS disappeared with Jessica and Luke Cage’s daughter – luckily, Norman Osborn helped them get their kid back.
Jessica Jones can easily fit into Secret Invasion thanks to her detective skills, and there was one moment in season 2 of her Netflix series that could be used to justify her appearance. In the first episode of Jessica Jones season 2, Jessica is listening to the stories of potential clients, among them a young woman telling her there are “lizards wearing human skins and taking over the government”, which could be easily retconned as a hint of the Skulls already blending in with humans on Earth. Surely, there have been no hints of Jessica Jones’ appearance in Secret Invasion, but it wouldn’t be the first surprise appearance in the Multiverse Saga.
Other MCU Movies & TV Shows Jessica Jones Can Return In If Jessica Jones is planned to officially become a part of the MCU and Secret Invasion doesn’t include her, there are other upcoming MCU movies and TV shows she can return in. The most obvious one is Daredevil: Born Again, but she could return earlier in Echo, as the series will reportedly feature a subplot where Daredevil will be looking for a former ally, who could easily be Jessica Jones. Spider-Man 4 can also mark Jessica Jones’ return, as she could help Peter Parker with whatever issue he will be facing, more so now that he will finally be a street-level hero, or Marvel could choose to wait and bring her back in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty or Avengers: Secret Wars, where Jessica would be exploring completely new territory.
