A Marvel fan spots a hidden detail in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 that manages to surprise director James Gunn. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 closed out the Marvel Cinematic Universe"s cosmic trilogy in perfect style, with the movie being the box office and critical success that the MCU desperately needed after the uneven Phase 4 and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania"s poor start to Phase 5. The movie presents many shocking reveals, and a hidden Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 detail had even Gunn surprised.On Twitter, Gunn was surprised by a Marvel fan pointing out a Road House Easter egg in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

The scene in question comes when Star-Lord takes Daniela Melchior"s Ura hostage in order to retrieve information on how to save Rocket. Star-Lord refers to himself as Patrick Swayze, who starred in Road House. The hidden connection with the Marvel film comes through Melchior, who is part of the cast of the upcoming Road House remake. Gunn was shocked to hear of the connection, confirming he had not planned the Easter egg.
What To Expect From The Guardians of The Galaxy In The Future

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3"s deaths did not include one of the team"s members, as was the case with the original Groot and Yondu in the franchise"s two previous entries. While all the Guardians are left alive at the end of the film, that version of the team is finished, with the Guardians disbanding. Star-Lord names Rocket the captain of the Guardians before going to Earth to be reunited with his grandfather, the variant Gamora goes back to her Ravager family, Mantis goes off on her own to find out what she truly wants in life, while Drax and Nebula will lead Knowhere and take care of its citizens.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3"s post-credits scenes touched on the future of the team. The movie"s first credits scene focused on the new Guardians of the Galaxy team assembled by Rocket. Bradley Cooper"s character leads a team that includes an enormous Groot, Kraglin, Cosmo the Spacedog, the young Phyla, and Adam Warlock. The latter"s pet, Blurp, was also seen alongside the team as the new Guardians assembled on a mission in a desert planet.
The movie"s second credits scene showed Peter Quill spending some time with his grandfather on Earth before a title card appeared, saying, "The Legendary Star-Lord Will Return." While Star-Lord was the only character confirmed to return, it is likely that the new iteration of the Guardians of the Galaxy will appear again in the MCU. Perhaps Star-Lord could join Rocket"s team to help Earth"s Mightiest Heroes save the multiverse in the upcoming Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, paying off Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3"s teases for the franchise"s future.
