Jon Bernthal Joins Another Live-Action Punisher Actor In Gun Range Video

Netflix's The Punisher star, Jon Bernthal, joins another live-action Punisher actor, Thomas Jane, in a shooting range video. Jane was the first to give life to Frank Castle onscreen, with the actor playing the Marvel Comics anti-hero in the 2004 movie The Punisher and 2012's The Punisher: Dirty Laundry, the latter being a short fan film the actor produced. Bernthal first played Frank Castle during Daredevil season 2 before getting his The Punisher series set in Netflix's Defenders universe. Now, the actor is set to return to the role in next year's Daredevil: Born Again, this time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
On Instagram, Taran Tactical Innovations shared an exciting video of the two Punisher actors "coaching" Hollywood's favorite gun trainer, Taran Butler, on how to properly navigate a shooting range.
Punisher actors Bernthal and Jane had already appeared together in epic photos, but the new video offers a unique look at seeing the two live-action Punishers together in an environment that feels natural to Frank Castle. With Bernthal soon joining the MCU in the middle of its Multiverse Saga, there is a possibility that he and Jane could meet as versions of the Punisher onscreen.
Why A Multiverse Punisher Reunion In The MCU Could Be Unique

It was recently announced that Bernthal joined the Daredevil: Born Again cast. The actor talked numerous times over the years since The Punisher was canceled by Netflix that if he were to return as Frank Castle in the MCU, it would need to be for a project that included a true representation of who Castle is as a character. That means Disney+'s Daredevil: Born Again series is likely not afraid of getting bloody, which is exciting for where the MCU as a whole could go.
With Punisher's inclusion in a Disney+ MCU series and Ryan Reynolds' Wade Wilson crossing over into the MCU alongside Hugh Jackman's Wolverine in the R-rated Deadpool 3, it appears that Marvel is looking to adapt some of its more violent characters in the coming years, forging a new path in the MCU. With the Multiverse Saga in full swing, now is the perfect time for Jane to return as Frank Castle, although the actor should not be playing his version of the character from the 2004 movie.
To make the MCU meeting between the two Punishers unique, Marvel would be best served by including Jane as an alternate universe version of the Punisher from the comics, the one known as Cosmic Ghost Rider. The MCU is looking at two Avengers movies in the next few years — The Kang Dynasty and Secret Wars — both of which should focus on multiverse-wide adventures. Seeing Bernthal's grounded Frank Castle against Jane as the Cosmic Ghost Rider would be something special, with the alternate Frank Castle's even darker life story likely to impact Bernthal's character, setting up a possible new arc for The Punisher in the MCU.
