Patrick Stewart comments on the possibility of a Charles Xavier return in Avengers: Secret Wars. Stewart previously debuted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a Professor X variant from Earth-838 in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. As Avengers: Secret Wars' title suggests, the movie will feature a major clash between the Avengers and other multiverse characters, of which Stewart's Charles Xavier is a stronger contender to be a part of.
Speaking with Etalk, Stewart teased a possible return as Charles Xavier in Avengers: Secret Wars.
The actor was asked if there is any truth to the rumor that he will be part of Avengers: Secret Wars' cast. While the actor did not outright confirm he is in the movie, Stewart also said he "cannot put it to rest." Stewart remembered that his X-Men character has died a few times and returned. Why Patrick Stewart Playing Charles Xavier In Avengers: Secret Wars Would Make Sense A Deadpool 3 Return Is Also In The Cards

Avengers: Secret Wars will serve as the end of the MCU's Multiverse Saga. As such, the movie should feature a wide array of characters from all over the multiverse to help or fight the new Avengers team. Several actors from projects across Marvel's live-action history have been rumored to play a role in the film. Having played Charles Xavier in several films since 2000's X-Men, including an MCU role, Stewart is almost a guarantee to appear in the movie.
Stewart's Charles Xavier could have a major role to play in Avengers: Secret Wars. The actor could appear as one or more variants of Professor X in the movie. One of those Charles' could be the leader of the world that will be colliding with the MCU as part of Avengers: Secret Wars' "incursions." Given his status as a fan favorite, having Stewart appear as the Charles of the universe that would have to die for the MCU to keep going would instantly get the audience divided.
Stewart could also appear before that in 2024's Deadpool 3. The movie will feature the returns of Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, and more rumored and confirmed characters from the Deadpool movies and the Fox Marvel films. Based on all the rumored cameos for Deadpool 3, it seems like the MCU might be paving the road for its new version of the X-Men to debut after the old generation of actors has one last adventure. By appearing in Avengers: Secret Wars, Stewart's Charles Xavier could help Marvel give the perfect send-off to the Fox X-Men franchise and set the stage for the MCU's X-Men.
