10 Bold MCU Phase 6 Predictions We Hope Come True

There have been several exciting predictions of what stories Marvel Studios could tell in the MCU's Phase 6. Set to conclude the Multiverse Saga, Phase 6 is expected to be one of the most intense eras of the MCU since its inception in 2008. At SDCC 2022, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige revealed three projects set to take place within the MCU's Phase 6, but since then, no further stories have been announced. This has led to a whirlwind of speculation concerning what adventures Earth's Mightiest Heroes will embark on in the coming years and how the next Saga of the MCU might be set up.
So far, only Fantastic Four, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, and Avengers: Secret Wars have been revealed for the MCU's Phase 6, though Marvel Studios has at least three scheduled slots for as-yet-unannounced projects. With the threat of Kang the Conqueror looming, the formation of a new Avengers team imminent, and the prospect of an incursion destroying the multiverse, Phase 6 is expected to match the hype of Infinity War and Endgame. That's not to mention what sort of adventures the MCU's heroes could get up to on Disney+ during Phase 6, so with so many empty spaces, many have been predicting what could unfold in the Multiverse Saga's final chapter.
10 The MCU's Official X-Men Team Will Debut In Phase 6 Disney's acquisition of Fox in 2019 meant that mutants could finally start to be integrated into the MCU. Phase 4 slowly started this process, revealing Kamala Khan and Namor to be mutants, while a variant of Professor X appeared in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. While Phase 5 is set to continue introducing mutants, including Deadpool and Wolverine in Deadpool 3 and Sabra in Captain America: Brave New World, the MCU's official X-Men team is expected to still be a way off. Even so, Phase 6 could provide teases at the new superhero team, allowing them to have a bigger role in stories in Phase 7 and beyond.
9 Avengers 6 Will Address The MCU's Cast Size Problem Since the MCU began with 2008's Iron Man, dozens of characters have been introduced to the franchise, so many that the Multiverse Saga has struggled to give them all the time on-screen that they deserve. Avengers: Endgame featured the tragic deaths of Iron Man and Black Widow, and the retirement of Steve Rogers' Captain America, so it's possible that Avengers: Secret Wars could follow the same pattern. Slimming down the MCU's massive cast would create some intense moments of farewell in Phase 6 but also enable Phase 7 to focus more on a select few characters, just like the MCU was back in Phases 1 and 2.
8 MCU Phase 6 Will Permanently Close The Multiverse In the wake of Infinity War and Endgame, it made sense for Marvel Studios to tackle the massive concept of the multiverse. However, while the exploration of the multiverse allows interesting stories to be told, it does come with its problems. Luckily, Avengers: Secret Wars provides the perfect way to close the door on the multiverse for good. In Marvel Comics' 2015 Secret Wars event, the universe is restored after a massive incursion, leading to the formation of a new Marvel Universe. If something like this occurs in the MCU's Phase 6, new stories can be told in the MCU's main continuity without depending so much on the multiverse.
7 The Young Avengers Will Finally Form In Phase 6 It's been heavily suspected that Marvel Studios has been teasing the formation of a Young Avengers team in the MCU, particularly after several prominent Young Avengers heroes from Marvel Comics debuted during the MCU's Phase 4. While there's been no confirmation of an impending Young Avengers project, the appearances of heroes such as Kamala Khan, Kate Bishop, America Chavez, Billy and Tommy Maximoff, and Cassie Lang surely can't be a coincidence. Phase 6's Avengers films might provide the perfect excuse to bring the Young Avengers together for the first time, potentially setting up further adventures for the young superhero team in the MCU's future.
6 Sam Wilson Will Lead The New Avengers In Phase 6 After being gifted the Captain America mantle and shield at the end of Avengers: Endgame, Sam Wilson finally embraced his new identity as Captain America in Phase 4's The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Though he hasn't been seen since, Phase 5's Captain America: Brave New World will mark Anthony Mackie's big-screen debut as Captain America and could tease his involvement with a new team of Avengers in the MCU. Many have speculated that Wilson could lead the MCU's New Avengers team, much like Steve Rogers did for the original Avengers. Sam Wilson as the Avengers' leader would prove that superhuman abilities aren't a necessity to be a hero.
5 Fantastic Four Will Introduce The MCU's Next Major Villain The Fantastic Four were confirmed to be coming to the MCU after Disney's acquisition of Fox in 2019, with Phase 6's Fantastic Four set to mark their grand entrance. Though casting rumors for Fantastic Four have been circulating in recent months, there is also the question of which villain the team might face. While Doctor Doom is a popular candidate, there have also been rumors of Galactus and the Silver Surfer being introduced in Fantastic Four. As a planet-eating foe in Marvel Comics, Galactus would be an epic addition to the MCU's Phase 6 and could even be set up to be the major threat for the next MCU Saga.
4 Other Marvel Franchise Characters Will Appear In Avengers: Secret Wars Based on Marvel Comics' Secret Wars events, Phase 6's Avengers: Secret Wars will likely see an incursion throw the multiverse into disarray. This storyline poses the perfect opportunity for characters from other Marvel franchises to play in the MCU sandbox. Heroes and villains from Fox's X-Men franchise, the Sony Spider-Man Universe, Fox's Fantastic Four films, and Sony's previous Marvel films would be great additions to Avengers: Secret Wars. Not only would this allow some fan-favorite characters to return for one final adventure, but this would also help to display the sheer scale of Secret Wars' storyline and its multiverse-threatening potential.
3 Live-Action Miles Morales Will Debut In The MCU's Phase 6 Since 2018, Miles Morales has been featured in Sony's animated Spider-Verse films, but Sony recently teased the development of a live-action film featuring Brooklyn's Spider-Man. Miles Morales' Uncle Aaron previously appeared in Spider-Man: Homecoming, portrayed by Donald Glover, who also made an appearance in Across the Spider-Verse, so this tease could be paid off in Phase 6. Sony and Marvel Studios' strong relationship means a live-action Miles Morales film may be developed within the world of the MCU, and since Miles Morales is crucial to Secret Wars' storyline, Phase 6 would provide the perfect opportunity for this to happen.
2 Mark Ruffalo Will Get A Solo Hulk Film In Phase 6 Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner, a.k.a. the Hulk, has been a staple of the MCU since 2008's The Incredible Hulk, but the film rights to the character have previously belonged to Universal Pictures. This meant that, while the Hulk could appear in projects focused on other characters, he was unable to embark on any solo adventures in the MCU. However, it's been rumored that the Hulk's rights will soon revert to Marvel Studios, which creates the potential for a solo film to release during Phase 6. With Phase 4 providing teases towards a World War Hulk film in the MCU, Phase 6 could see Banner go through his biggest transformation yet.
1 Doctor Doom Will Be The Main Villain Of Avengers: Secret Wars Marvel Comics' 2015 Secret Wars event saw Doctor Doom, the iconic Fantastic Four villain, set himself up as the God Emperor of Battleworld after a destructive incursion. There's currently been no word of his introduction into the MCU, but since both Fantastic Four and Avengers: Secret Wars are set to release as part of Phase 6, it's likely that Doctor Doom will make his MCU debut in the next few years. If Marvel Studios stick close to the Marvel Comics storyline for Secret Wars in the MCU's Phase 6, Doctor Doom could be featured as the film's primary villain, setting him up as a major threat in the MCU's future.
