Marvel Finally Admits The Biggest Problem With Iron Man"s Post-Credits Scene

Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for The Marvels
Summary
  • The Marvels humorously points out that certain elements of Nick Fury's offer to Tony Stark in the first post-credits scene weren't as established as they seemed, highlighting the bizarre nature of the scene in hindsight.
  • The ending scene of The Marvels where Kamala Khan recruits Kate Bishop, mirrors Nick Fury's post-credits scene from Iron Man. However, Kamala is upfront about forming a brand-new team, likely the Young Avengers, making the scene feel somewhat more honest.
  • The Young Avengers recruitment scene in The Marvels hints at the exciting prospect of the new team finally coming together, especially after the introduction of potential recruits in Phase 4 and Phase 5 of the MCU's Multiverse Saga.
The Marvels makes a great point about Nick Fury and the MCU's very first post-credits scene at the end of 2008's Iron Man. Kicking off not only the greater interconnected world is the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Iron Man's post-credits scene was also the start of the end-credits tradition fans have come to expect over the last 15 years. However, The Marvels humorously points out that certain elements of Nick Fury's offer to Tony Stark weren't as established or fleshed out as he might have made them seem.
As seen at the end of The Marvels, Kamala Khan's Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani) reveals that she's come up with an idea. This is followed by a scene where Kamala is sitting in the shadows before recruiting Kate Bishop's Hawkeye (Hailee Steinfeld). Revealing her intentions to form a new team of younger heroes (presumably the Young Avengers), this final scene where Kamala is channeling her inner Nick Fury is equally hilarious and exciting. However, it does highlight the bizarre nature of the original 2008 post-credits, considering everything that came after in Marvel's Phase 1.
