Marvel Made 1 Avengers Theory More Likely By Breaking Nick Fury"s Biggest Rule

Warning! Spoilers ahead for Secret Invasion episode 2. Marvel Studios offers a big clue that makes a big Avengers theory much more likely in Secret Invasion. The latest Marvel Cinematic Universe Disney+ series continues Nick Fury and Talos the Skrull's attempt to stop Gravik and his followers' attempt at taking over Earth. As the first small screen offering in Phase 5, Marvel Studios takes a more grounded approach to Secret Invasion's storytelling. Unlike several of its Multiverse Saga predecessors, stakes are immediately felt in the show, especially after Fury's personal loss with the death of Maria Hill in the Secret Invasion premiere.
Admittedly, the story of Secret Invasion seems far removed from everything else that Marvel Studios is doing to set up the culmination of the Multiverse Saga via Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. The Disney+ series revisits a plot line first set-up in the Infinity Saga's Captain Marvel. Compared to the dangers of multiple realities and timelines colliding with each other and the existence of variants of Kang the Conqueror, Secret Invasion seems less important in the grand scheme of things. However, depending on how things pan out for Fury, it can change both the past and future of the MCU.
