Mandalorians Secretly WERE In The Sequel Trilogy (But Nobody Noticed)
While their exact fate has yet to be confirmed in the Star Wars canon, Mandalorians were secretly involved in the sequel trilogy during the Resistance's conflict with the First Order. Following the reign of the Empire, Mandalore and its people were nearly wiped out. However, The Mandalorian season 3 has brought forth a new age for the planet, better explaining their subtle role in the sequels that's incredibly easy to miss.
During the rise of the Empire, Mandalore underwent a massive period of upheaval. While many chose to resist, retaliation was brutally swift with a planet-wide Imperial bombardment that became known as the Night of a Thousand Tears. This led to the near-genocide of the Mandalorian people and a scattering of the few survivors. However, the efforts of Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff) and Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) in The Mandalorian season 3 saw the reclamation of Mandalore during the dawn of the New Republic from the Imperial Remnant. As such, The Rise of Skywalker confirms Mandalorians continued to play a role in the galaxy during the sequels.
