Kraven"s New Villain Avoids The Most Embarrassing Mistake Of Sony"s $10bn Spider-Man Franchise

There's more than one classic Spider-Man villain getting a redesign in Kraven The Hunter, with Rhino sporting a different look than in The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Played by Alessandro Nivola, the new Rhino makes a quick appearance in the final seconds of the first trailer for Kraven the Hunter, displaying a transformative ability that shows "why they call me The Rhino." This is dramatically different from the characters' powers in the comics and his regrettable live-action premiere.
Created by Stan Lee and John Romita Sr. and first appearing in The Amazing Spider-Man #41, The Rhino was originally a Russian spy named Aleksei Sytsevich, who served as a test subject for an experiment intended to create a new breed of agent. Trapped within a second skin made of nearly unbreakable hide after being given super-strength, Sytsevich rebelled against his handlers to go into business for himself. His activities brought him into frequent conflict with Spider-Man, though his background and powers were updated over the years, changing his suit to sometimes be more mechanical and his creators to the Russian mob.
