DCU"s Green Lantern Show Inspiration Already Revealed Its Perfect Casting Choice

DC Studios' Lanterns series will debut a new Hal Jordan in live-action, and the perfect actor for this iconic Green Lantern in the new DC Universe might have already been revealed, thanks to the much anticipated show's inspiration. HBO series Lanterns was confirmed to be in development by DC Studios co-CEO in January 2023, set to premiere as part of the DCU's Chapter 1, titled "Gods and Monsters." Not much is yet known about Lanterns' cast or the mystery that Green Lantern Corps members Hal Jordan and John Stewart will investigate.
DC Studios' other co-CEO, Peter Safran, revealed to Variety in 2023 that the mystery Hal Jordan and John Stewart will investigate will lead audiences into "the main story that [the DCU is] telling across [its] film and television." This suggests Lanterns will be one of the most important installments in the DCU, which means the casting of its titular Green Lantern Corps members needs to be spot on. While nothing has yet been confirmed, there has been speculation about Lanterns' cast, and one possible choice could have hit the nail on the head.
