DC has already set a high bar for 2025's Superman to surpass concerning its depiction of Lois Lane. As the next upcoming DC movie, aside from the Elseworlds property Joker: Folie à Deux, Superman is facing a lot of pressure. Not only does the film have to rectify the characterization mistakes of the DCEU, but it is also responsible for kickstarting the new shared universe crafted by James Gunn. Much of this pressure will be heaped on Superman's ensemble cast as the new versions of DC's most famous characters.
David Corenswet will lead Superman as the titular hero, spearheading the DCU's Chapter One: Gods and Monsters. Surrounding him will be several other heroes, including Guy Gardner, Hawkgirl, Metamorpho, and Mister Terrific to name a few. However, standing by Superman's side the entire time will be Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane. The DCU's depiction of Lois Lane is undoubtedly important, and a high bar has been set by two stories in 2024.
