It’s Always Sunny Star Charlie Day Becomes Oddly Perfect Wolverine Recast In Marvel Art

New MCU art reimagines Charlie Day as Wolverine, a very different role to Paddy"s Pub co-owner Charlie Kelly in It"s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Charlie Day is best known for portraying Charlie Kelly, but has also achieved recognition for roles in Pacific Rim, Horrible Bosses and The Super Mario Bros. Movie, but he is yet to join the line-up of a superhero franchise. Charlie Day is the perfect candidate for a superhero role, and he has recently been the subject of an unorthodox but brilliant fan-cast suggesting he"d be great as the MCU"s new Wolverine.
Although known as the simple but dedicated co-owner and janitor of Paddy"s Pub, Charlie Day has recently been imagined in a very different role. Art shared by @ismokemegamann puts Charlie Day in the role of Wolverine, using a poster from 2009"s X-Men Origins: Wolverine as a reference. Although unexpected, this art proves that Charlie Day actually has the perfect appearance to portray a live-action Wolverine, even though Hugh Jackman recently reprised his iconic role for Marvel Studios" Deadpool & Wolverine.
What The Charlie Day Wolverine Art Means Close Charlie Day is best known for his more comedic roles, particularly that in the aforementioned It"s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, which he has starred in since 2005. Should Marvel Studios listen to this fan-cast and hire Charlie Day as the MCU"s official Wolverine, it"s likely the character will take on more humor than his previous live-action adaptations. Hugh Jackman"s Wolverine did crack jokes several times, and his dry humor and sarcastic wit provided several laughs, but Day assuming this role would take this to the extreme.

8 While a more comedic take on Wolverine could be controversial, this fan art proves that Charlie Day has the perfect appearance to play Wolverine in live-action. The actor"s raggedy hair and facial hair already bears resemblance to Wolverine, while it wouldn"t be hard for Day to put on a little muscle in preparation for the role. Most notably, Charlie Day is 5"7" in height, which is far more similar to Wolverine"s 5"3" than Hugh Jackman"s looming 6"2". Charlie Day has dramatic experience as well as comedic, so he could bring some exciting layers to a more comic-accurate Wolverine.
Our Take On The Charlie Day Wolverine Art Many actors have been fan-cast as Wolverine in the wake of Deadpool & Wolverine, as Hugh Jackman is likely to actually be retiring from the role ahead of the MCU"s X-Men reboot. While the likes of Henry Cavill, Daniel Radcliffe and Taron Egerton have been exciting choices, Charlie Day ticks boxes that some of these actors don"t. He has proven his brilliant acting ability time and again, would bring a sense of humor to Wolverine, and could deliver a Wolverine of more comic-accurate height, which would be fantastic to see in Marvel Studios" upcoming X-Men storylines.
