Starting as a loner, MJ grew into one of Peter and Ned Leeds" best friends in the Spider-Man movies, eventually becoming Peter"s girlfriend and confidant.
However, Spider-Man: No Way Home"s ending sets up a new status quo for the franchise, with Doctor Strange"s spell making it so that Ned and MJ do not remember their time with Peter. Holland"s character is now out of high school and all alone in the world. With that setup and a new director in place, Spider-Man 4"s story could be about new beginnings, with Zendaya"s MJ giving place to one of many possible love interests that would fit Holland"s Peter Parker.
10 Betty Brant Character Is Already In The MCU Close The first love interest Peter could have in Spider-Man 4 is a throwback to Spider-Man"s MCU stories. 9 Silver Sable Character Still Needs To Debut In The MCU Close Silver Sable is a potential love interest for Tom Holland"s Peter Parker that could shake things up for the Spider-Man franchise considerably. Sony"s planned Silver Sable movie has been canceled, leaving the character free for the MCU to use. Silvija Sablinova, aka Silver Sable, would be an interesting character to pair Peter Parker with, as Spider-Man would not have to fear for her safety as he did with Zendaya"s MJ.
Silver & Black, a Silver Sable and Black Cat movie, was originally in development at Sony. Later, the project was divided into a movie for each character, both of which were later canceled.
In Marvel Comics, Silver Sable is known for her deadly skills, which include being well-versed in various martial arts, as well as being an expert marksman. Silver Sable would bring a nice dose of unpredictability to Spider-Man 4, as she has been a villain and an anti-hero in the comics. The romance could bring a new kind of sacrifice to the MCU, as Silver Sable seemingly died — she actually suffered bad burns — to save Spider-Man in the comics, while Peter sacrificed his happiness to keep MJ safe so far in the MCU.
8 Liz Allan Character Is Already In The MCU Close Instead of pursuing a completely new love interest in the MCU, Holland"s Peter Parker could find his way back to Liz Allan. The character was the first romantic interest Spider-Man had in the MCU. Laura Harrier gave life to Liz Allan in Spider-Man: Homecoming, with her father being revealed to be Michael Keaton"s Vulture. That put a strain on their relationship, as Vulture discovered that Peter was Spider-Man and the young character did not reveal his secret to Liz.

7 Silk Character Still Needs To Debut In The MCU Close Sony is developing multiple ways to explore its Spider-Man characters, which include TV shows. The first of which was supposed to be Silk: Spider Society by The Walking Dead showrunner Angela Kang. However, after some rewrites, the project was ultimately shelved. As such, Silk"s live-action future is up in the air, and Marvel Studios could scoop her up to add more Spider-Man-like heroes to the MCU.
Silk is a very interesting character for the Spider-Man movies due to her unique connection to Peter Parker. In the comics, Cindy Moon, aka Silk, was bitten by the same spider that bit Peter. That could lead to Peter Parker striking a romance not only with another hero but a member of the Avengers, providing a fresh angle for Spider-Man"s MCU stories. Steinfeld and Holland imbue their characters with similar charm, nerdiness, and impeccable comedic timing, which means Peter and Kate could be a match made in heaven.
4 Julia Cornwall/Spider-Woman Character Still Needs To Debut In The MCU Close Despite its name, Sony"s Spider-Man Universe does not feature a version of the wall-crawler. One of the movies that could have changed that in a way was Madame Web, which featured four Spider-Man-like heroines, only they got their powers and superhero costumes merely in visions from the future, lasting no more than a couple of minutes. With Madame Web bombing at the box office, those characters are unlikely to be seen again in the SSU.

The fact Marvel went out of their way not to name Zendaya"s character Mary Jane and gave her a different personality means that there is a chance that Spider-Man"s ultimate love interest could still come to the MCU in the future.
