DC Is Finally Giving Superman Fans The Unhinged Stuff That’s Usually Left In The Comics

Superman & Lois has begun its final season, and the story of this last leg of the show is already taking the DC series to new and wild heights. After beginning to tell Superman"s darkest story, the show has taken a series of incredible twists and turns that have set it up for an unusual season of television. Season 4 will be the blast for the series, and it seems that the creatives behind the project have been working hard to make it as memorable, original, and unexpected as they could possibly manage.
It makes sense that Superman & Lois is ending, even if the show is perhaps now at its best in many ways. Everything known about the upcoming DCU Superman film suggests that it will launch a new and comprehensive DC Universe. This will mean having one Superman across both television and movies. As it stands, though, Superman & Lois is ensuring its story has a seriously memorable sendoff via the final chapter of its story, which has already brought some major moments to television screens.
Superman & Lois Season 4 Has Brought The Kind Of Story Usually Only Found In Comics To The DC Show Doomsday And Lex Luthor Have Brought A Unique Edge To The CW Series Close The new season of Superman & Lois has made some unexpected and unhinged choices since debuting. Following the transformation of Bizarro into Doomsday - two incredible villains pulled from the comics - some disturbing events have occurred. After Superman"s death, Doomsday took Superman"s heart from him to give to Lex Luthor, who not longer after seemingly crushed it under his heel in front of Superman"s son - leaving the Kent family to find out another potential way to bring Clark Kent back.
It seems inevitable that Superman"s death will be undone, although the show is taking an original and intense path to get there. With the deranged actions of Lex Luthor potentially only amping up, it seems that all kinds of twists and turns are still in store in order to make each moment as compelling as possible. It"s currently almost impossible to predict what road the show will take story-wise in its upcoming episodes, with the events currently unfolding mirroring the kind of enrapturing and sometimes surreal chaos that usually is only seen in the pages of the comics and not as often in their adaptations.
Superman & Lois Season 4 Looks Set To Only Get More Intense The Series Is Making Some Incredible And Unexpected Choices Close The future of Superman & Lois appears to be growing even more intense. Brainiac has already been teased for the series, and the Superman & Lois showrunner has promised there is "more to come". With Tyler Hoechlin"s Superman currently off the table, and a larger focus on the family, including Superboy and his need to face off against Lex and Doomsday again, it appears that there is a plan to keep the program compelling even without their main character. The path that the story follows appears to be planned to be as exciting and unexpected as that which has already come.
With a shorter season, a lower budget, and the need to close things off, it appears that the team behind the series wish to put all of their remaining plans into the end of the show. The creatives behind the project are clearly fans of the comic books that inspired the series, and virtually any of these stories could come into play in the series. Following Doomsday and Lex Luthor being used so closely together - and Brainiac being teased for potential future episodes - it also seems quite possible that other iconic supervillains may appear in the upcoming episodes.
Why Superman & Lois Season 4's Unhinged Story Is The Perfect Way To End The Show This Superman Has Had One Of The Most Interesting Journeys Across The Multiverse Close Superman & Lois has been a compelling version of the Man of Steel"s story, and it has followed in the footsteps of the Arrowverse in exciting ways. After Crisis on Infinite Earths saw Tyler Hoechlin appearing in the same series as Brandon Routh and Tom Welling, this version of the hero has been inherently tied closer to the character"s long legacy. This makes it even more important that the ending of Hoechlin"s Superman story is handled carefully.
After only two episodes have aired, it feels like virtually anything could occur in the rest of the series. The end of Superman & Lois is more than just the end of the show; it is the end of an entire era for DC. While the Arrowverse has already ended, components of what that represents are still involved in Superman and Lois. As such, this unhinged and wild ending that throws everything it can imagine in is the perfect way to end the beloved series.
