Picard Season 3 Made Raffi Even More Tragic (Can Worf Redeem Her?)

WARNING: This article contains SPOILERS for Star Trek: Picard season 3, episode 2, "Disengage."Commander Raffi Musiker (Michelle Hurd) is in a dire place in Star Trek: Picard season 3, but teaming up with Worf (Michael Dorn) could ultimately pave the way for her redemption. Raffi is the only remaining original character from Star Trek: Picard season 1. Musiker was one of Admiral Jean-Luc Picard's (Patrick Stewart) closest confidantes after he left the USS Enterprise-E to oversee the mass evacuation of Romulus. Picard resigned from Starfleet when the top brass decided to pull out of the Romulan rescue effort, and Raffi fell into a cycle of addiction and paranoia that ultimately cost her not only her career, but her family.
In Star Trek: Picard season 1, Jean-Luc sought out Raffi to help him rescue Soji (Isa Briones), the synthetic offspring of the late Commander Data (Brent Spiner). After her successful mission with Admiral Picard, Raffi was back in Starfleet at the beginning of Picard season 2, assigned to the USS Excelsior along with her young protégé, the Romulan Starfleet Cadet Elnor (Evan Evagora). She also began a somewhat tumultuous romance with Seven Of Nine (Jeri Ryan). Raffi seemed to be in a good place as Picard season 2 ended, but season 3 finds her in very different circumstances, isolated and struggling to maintain control.
