MCU Phase 5 Revealed The Best Way To Make The Next Avengers War Unique

Warning! This post contains spoilers for The Marvels.
Summary
  • Phases 4 and 5 of the MCU will feature multiversal conflicts in upcoming Avengers movies, and The Marvels introduced a fun deviation from the formulaic Avengers storyline.
  • The Marvels sets up a musical ally for the Avengers in the form of Captain Marvel's connection to Prince Yan and the people of Aladna, who communicate through song and dance.
  • Including musical scenes in the Avengers movies would allow the MCU to explore new genres and keep audiences engaged after over 30 movies of the same elements.
Phases 4 and 5 of the MCU have set up many multiversal conflicts to be paid off in the upcoming Avengers movies, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars, and now The Marvels has introduced a fun way these films can deviate from their predecessors. While the Avengers movies are some of the strongest and most popular in the MCU, they have become a bit formulaic. Each involves Earth's Mightiest Heroes coming together to take on a catastrophic threat, and they all incorporate dynamic battle scenes of the heroes using their distinct power sets and fighting styles to defeat massive armies.
The only notable change between movies is the number of Avengers increases each time, with the first Avengers movie focusing on the original six, and Avengers: Endgame showcasing dozens of heroes. The Kang Dynasty is expected to feature all the MCU's current heroes teaming up to battle variants of Kang as they reignite a multiversal war, and Secret Wars will have a similar grand scale, if not larger thanks to the multiverse. Because audiences have already seen a huge team of Avengers fighting a powerful villain, the next Avengers movies will need to incorporate new elements to make them fun and engaging. The Marvels just introduced the perfect way to do this.
