Separating Marvel's animated multiverse from Marvel's live-action multiverse would allow both to have creative freedom over their respective characters and properties. For instance, if Avengers: Secret Wars affects Marvel's every live-action universe, every animated movie and show's universe can remain unaffected. Otherwise, Avengers: Secret Wars would have to incorporate Marvel's animated universes into its plot, or at least acknowledge them.

However, an eventual crossover between them could be possible thanks to Sony's Spider-Verse movies. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse confirmed that Spider-People from all kinds of animated shows, live-action movies, and even videogames gather together in the Spider-Society's headquarters.
