Moon Knight season 2 has yet to come, and I cannot understand why the hero has not been brought back yet to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In just a few months, three years will have passed since Moon Knight debuted on Disney+. I understand why there might have been some hesitancy from Marvel Studios when it came to renewing the series for season 2 when it aired, as the MCU"s Phase 4 was the most complicated period of the franchise. After
many issues came from the high influx of Marvel projects, a slowdown was put into effect.
However, it has been some time since
Marvel made the necessary changes to its output model. Now, MCU TV shows have a longer time in the development pipeline before they are ready to be released. Marvel is also hiring proper showrunners to lead the MCU"s series, which helps the projects immensely. Over the past year, a few crucial changes needed to guarantee that Moon Knight season 2 would be better than the first were made behind the scenes with Marvel"s TV overhaul, but we have yet to see a go-ahead for another season, and I fear it might never come.
I Think Moon Knight Is The Best Hero Introduced In Phase 4 Oscar Isaac Is Perfect As The Complex Marvel Character Close The reason behind my desire to see Oscar Isaac return for Moon Knight season 2 is due to my belief that the character was the best MCU hero to come from Phase 4. That is saying something. While Phase 4 as a whole had several issues, it did introduce quite a few
exciting characters, such as Yelena Belova, Shang-Chi, Kate Bishop, Ms. Marvel, and many more. Despite there being so many intriguing characters in Phase 4, I believe that Isaac"s Moon Knight is the best to debut during this period, as he is the most complex.

4 Moon Knight has always been one of the characters I liked to read about the most in Marvel Comics. His dissociative identity disorder leads to Marc Spector, Steven Grant, and Jake Lockley being very different personalities despite all originating from the same character. While
the MCU made major changes to how Marc"s alters sound and behave, I had a great time getting to know more about each personality, and I think the character"s tragic backstory, as well as Marc and Steven becoming friends, was really well done. Moon Knight"s action, though not as brutal as promised, was another high point.
Moon Knight Season 2 Is Looking Unlikely The MCU Series Recently Received An Update Close
There are aspects of Disney+"s Moon Knight that frustrated me, such as the show"s excessive use of Oscar Isaac"s character blacking out when Jake Lockley took over. That plot device led to the main fight with Ethan Hawke"s Arthur Harrow being skipped over in the finale, which I hated. Still, Moon Knight season 1"s ending finally revealed Lockley and teased more from him in a future MCU project or season 2. Well, I hope the latter comes true, as Marvel has a lot yet to explore with Moon Knight solo stories, but chances are not looking good.
Moon Knight"s final episode, "Gods and Monsters," aired on May 4, 2022.
In a new interview with Deadline, Moon Knight director Mohamed Diab addressed season 2 and Oscar Isaac"s MCU future. While Diab said that he would love to be involved in the next chapter of the Marvel hero"s story, he confirmed what I did not want to hear, saying,
"Right now, nothing is in talks." It seems like there has been no movement on Moon Knight season 2. While another season is looking unlikely, I will keep holding out hope, as Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige recently told Omelete that more MCU series will be getting renewals after Daredevil: Born Again.
Moon Knight’s Only Confirmed MCU Appearance Is Not Enough Marc Spector Is Coming Back In An Upcoming Marvel Series But There Is A Twist
Back in 2022, Oscar Isaac told ComicBook.com that
talks about Moon Knight season 2 had happened. Speaking about "specific conversations," Isaac said they were pleasant, but, ultimately, Marvel and the actor did not know if the show would come back. Since then, few updates have come regarding Moon Knight season 2. However, I was excited to see that Moon Knight would return in What If...? season 3. The character will be part of what should be a fun episode featuring Moon Knight, Captain America, Red Guardian, and more heroes using mechs to fight gamma monsters.
However,
an animated multiverse story is far from the same as getting Moon Knight season 2. The character has enormous potential, and I want to see the Jake Lockley and Khonshu story teased at the end of season 1 be paid off. As Moon Knight season 2 is looking unlikely after its latest update, I still think Moon Knight could be used in other live-action projects. It would be fun to see how different Marc and Steven"s reactions to other heroes would be in the next two Avengers movies or a live-action Midnight Sons roster with supernatural characters.
With so many characters in the next Avengers movies,
Marvel could divide the heroes into different teams. I think Moon Knight would fit well with darker, street-level characters like Daredevil and the Punisher. After the movies, the MCU"s supernatural corner could get expanded on with Marvel Studios" Blade, a possible Doctor Strange 3, and the debut of Marvel"s premiere supernatural team from the comics, the Midnight Sons.
Moon Knight has been part of the team in the comics, and Marc Spector"s serious nature would match that of characters like Blade and Elsa Bloodstone perfectly.
