Tom Holland Gives His Honest Review Of Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse

Warning! This article contains SPOILERS for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.Tom Holland shares his honest thoughts on Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Holland is the Marvel Cinematic Universe"s Spider-Man, with the actor having appeared in a number of crossover films, a solo trilogy, and the upcoming Spider-Man 4 that is on hold due to the WGA strike. While he does not return as Peter Parker, Holland keeps himself close to Spider-Man, sharing his honest review of the Oscar-winning animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
Speaking with the Associated Press at his Apple TV+ series The Crowded Room premiere, Holland shared his thoughts on Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
According to the actor, the animated film is "the best Spider-Man movie that’s ever been made." That is a bold statement by the actor who is considered by many as the best Spider-Man, and whose latest film was a generational event released to overwhelmingly positive reception and making close to $2 billion at the box office. Holland also said he is excited to watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Check out the full quote below:
“I think the first ‘Spider-Verse’ movie is the best Spider-Man movie that’s ever been made. I’m so proud of everyone involved. [Spider-Man franchise producer] Amy Pascal is like my mom. I was supposed to go with her [to the Across the Spider-Verse premiere] as her date, I couldn’t go because I’m here working. But I’m incredibly proud of them, I’m excited for the second one. I’m sure it will live up to every expectation, and I can’t wait to see it.

Could Tom Holland Join The Spider-Verse Franchise? Holland was rumored to show up in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The rumor stated that the actor would appear as Spider-Man in a live-action dimension that Miles Morales would visit in the film. However, anyone who has seen the new animated movie can confirm that Holland was nowhere to be seen. While the actor was not present in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, the movie did set the stage for his possible role in next year"s trilogy finale, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse featured archival footage of Andrew Garfield"s Spider-Man in a big, albeit short, moment to explain canon events in the Spider-Verse. Tobey Maguire"s Peter Parker could also be seen in the background for a couple of scenes in the sequence. Holland"s Spider-Man might have been absent from the sequence; however, the character was mentioned by Oscar Isaac"s Spider-Man 2099, who was furious about the MCU Spider-Man and Doctor Strange messing with the Spider-Verse in Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Holland"s latest Spider-Man movie saw him come together with Maguire and Garfield"s Peter Parkers, setting up the Spider-Verse in live-action. The sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse also included Venom"s Mrs. Chen, furthering the live-action Spider-Verse to include Tom Hardy"s movies and likely all of Sony"s Spider-Man Universe films. With Holland and Spider-Verse producers showing interest in the actor joining the franchise in the past, as well as the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse"s sequel setting up more live-action events, it is very possible that the MCU Spider-Man will make an appearance in the animated trilogy"s finale next year.
