In a new interview with Collider, Benoist was asked how she personally handled the responsibility of playing Supergirl as part of the Arrowverse and what she thinks could help Alcock, who will be headlining Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow in 2026. For Benoist, the Supergirl lead stressed that she would keep in mind the audience she was making the show for throughout her time playing the Girl of Steel, sharing the following:

That's a really good question. I think what always drove me while working on that show was the audience and who I knew I was making the show for. Of course, I know that she is an iconic character that spans many generations of fans, but the people that I was making that show for while we were making it were young women, and if I kept that in the forefront of my mind, it always made everything palatable.
