With such an intriguing cast and major Marvel Comics antagonists appearing in the film, there is a lot of anticipation for The Fantastic Four. At the moment, not much is known about The Fantastic Four's story, though there have been some confirmations and major teases recently. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige revealed The Fantastic Four details, which included confirmation that the MCU movie takes place in the 1960s and will start filming on July 29. Feige also teased that the theory that The Fantastic Four takes place on an alternate Earth might be accurate, which leads to a new theory.

Fantastic Four Movie Theory: The Future Foundation Creates The Council Of Reeds Close Recently, it was reported that Marvel Studios will return to San Diego Comic-Con this year, which means major reveals are on the way. While footage from The Fantastic Four will not debut at the event, as the MCU movie begins filming a day after SDCC, Marvel's First Family will have a presence at Comic-Con. A new Fantastic Four movie reveal came through fans spotting the banners for the film near where SDCC will be held. Besides showing the silhouettes of the Fantastic Four's members, the banners revealed that the Future Foundation will play a role in the film.
In the comics, the Future Foundation is a team Reed Richards creates by assembling some of the universe's brightest young minds, which then expands to older characters like Spider-Man — on the Human Torch's request — and even Doctor Doom. According to a new The Fantastic Four theory, the Future Foundation will lead to the creation of the Council of Reeds in the MCU. This would go a different route from the Future Foundation's role in the comics, as Reed left the Council of Reeds and then created his new team to make a better future.
The Future Foundation reveal connects to a rumor that Reed Richards and Sue Storm are parents in The Fantastic Four.
With Feige teasing that the Fantastic Four come from another Earth, with plenty of hints pointing that way, the MCU theory uses the team's multiversal travel from an alternate universe into the MCU's Earth-616 to connect with the Council of Reeds. In the comics, the Future Foundation builds ships to save survivors from a dying universe. That could happen in The Fantastic Four, with Reed and the team arriving in the main MCU and discovering the multiverse. Upon learning about it and the threat Kang the Conqueror poses, Reed would seek his multiverse variants and create the Council of Reeds.

The Council Of Reeds’ Marvel Comics Origin Explained The Multiversal Team Would Perfectly Fit The MCU's Ongoing Story Close As the team's name states, the Council of Reeds is made up of several variants of Mr. Fantastic from all over the multiverse. The Council of Reeds was created based on a story of loss. The members of the multiversal team are Reeds who did not grow up with their father, as the Nathaniel Richards across the multiverse were displaced through time. Three versions of Reed Richards with their universes' Infinity Gauntlets found one another and created the team. Earth-616's Reed Richards ended up not fitting the team due to his emotional attachment to the ones he loved.
The Council of Reeds' versions of Mr. Fantastic were required to abandon their worlds and everyone they knew in order to join the team. Having a loving family, friends, and being the only Mr. Fantastic to still have his father alive, Marvel Comics' main Reed Richards could not accept those terms. The Council of Reeds did a lot of good across the multiverse as it tried to "solve everything." However, there were some nefarious schemes afoot, such as the lobotomizing of multiverse variants of Doctor Doom. Eventually, the team was decimated by the Mad Celestials.

The MCU Set Up A Precedent For Multiverse Variants Of Mr. Fantastic There Are Multiple Reeds In The MCU Close Pedro Pascal has been cast as the MCU's main Reed Richards, debuting in next year's The Fantastic Four. However, he was not the first version of Mr. Fantastic to join the MCU. After being the fan-favorite choice for the role for years — something Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige revealed was behind his casting — The Office's John Krasinski played Reed Richards in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. That multiverse variant of the character came from Earth-838 and not only set up a precedent for other multiverse variants of Reed, but more Fantastic Four connections.
As is rumored to be the case for Pascal's Reed, Krasinski's version of the character was revealed to be a father. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness could also connect to The Fantastic Four's Council of Reeds theory in two major ways. The movie had Krasinski's Reed as part of his own team, the Illuminati. The Fantastic Four theory could even lead to the debut of other variants of the team, as Pascal's Reed would explore the multiverse for other Reeds upon discovering the concept, and that could lead to the rest of Earth-838's Fantastic Four appearing.

Why The Council Of Reeds Makes Sense For The Multiverse Saga It Is The Perfect Solution For The Avengers' Next Threat Close The Council of Reeds fits the Multiverse Saga perfectly, continuing the exploration of the multiverse and introducing new concepts. Adding to that, the team being created in a purely positive light by Pascal's Reed Richards, as The Fantastic Four theory suggests, would make the Council of Reeds the perfect solution to what is expected to be the main threat of Avengers 5. The movie, which is reportedly no longer called Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, was at one point going to feature the Council of Kangs.
Similar to the Council of Reeds, the team centers around Kang the Conqueror variants and was introduced in the mid-credits scene of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Avengers 5 having the Council of Reeds join the fight against the Council of Kangs would be perfect for Earth's Mightiest Heroes, as a group of variants of Mr. Fantastic would bring the necessary intelligence and multiverse knowledge to take down the Kangs. With The Fantastic Four filming set to start at the end of July, more reveals about the movie's story and possible confirmation of the theory could come through set photos.
