Marvel"s Newest Show Is Already Exactly What I Wanted From WandaVision Season 2

WandaVision may be the best series yet released in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but Agatha All Along is already doing an incredible job following up on that show"s success. Filled with hidden Marvel clues and mysteries, the new series has done an excellent job in creating an engaged viewership that hopes to continue as the series progresses through the first season. I plan to watch each new episode the hour that it is released, and Agatha"s Rotten Tomatoes score suggests that I will not be alone in doing so.
With Agatha All Along season 2 not yet announced, the show may only run for a single season. However, Marvel Television has been adjusting its TV strategy, and there seems to be a focus on creating more traditional series that are able to run for more than one season. While series like the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again are scheduled for multiple seasons, Agatha All Along suggests a different path. The new series essentially functions as season 2 of WandaVision in every way I could have hoped for.
Agatha All Along Is Everything I Hoped For From WandaVision Season 2 Agatha All Along Is A Clear Successor To Marvel's First Disney+ Series Close Agatha All Along is already an excellent WandaVision season 2. Both series, while distinctly different, were created by Jac Schaeffer, and her imprints and style have become clear. Both series lean toward a comedic tone and use it effectively while navigating dense and deep character studies. In addition, both series have played with the nature of reality, such as the Agnes of Westview parody sequence filling in for WandaVision"s every episode being styled after another era of sitcoms.

Oscillating between genres and tones adeptly, Agatha All Along has already fulfilled so much of what was beloved about WandaVision. I am excited about how these focuses will remain in the forthcoming episodes, but what I am most excited about is the mysterious nature of the show. WandaVision prompted so much discussion with each new episode unveiling new mysteries, and it appears Agatha is already generating theories and mysteries too. I"m looking forward to seeing how they come together.
Agatha All Along Makes WandaVision Even More Important In The Modern MCU The New Series Helps To Contextualize Wanda's Actions Close The importance of Marvel Television to the entire franchise is a bit hazy, with some shows being very important while others feel totally disconnected from the larger universe. However, Agatha All Along seems to correspond with important MCU details from WandaVision and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, with Agatha continuing to look into Wanda"s death. Having had her magic taken away by Wanda at the end of WandaVision, there is clearly a connection between the two characters that persists in this new series.
I have been upset by how Agatha looks to destroy Wanda"s reputation. However, the storytelling has been important in showing Wanda"s negative effects on so many lives. As viewers, we can"t help but see Wanda in WandaVision as a hero, even though the bulk of her actions are twisted. The reframing and the fallout of this in Agatha All Along helps to contextualize the events of that series and the lives that it affected. If any further Scarlet Witch stories continue in the MCU, they will surely be affected by the events of Agatha.
Agatha All Along & Vision May End Up Being Better Than Getting WandaVision Season 2 More Focuses Help To Tell Bigger Marvel Stories Close While I would certainly be excited if Marvel had announced that WandaVision was set to return for season 2, I honestly don"t know what that show would be. Following her death in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Scarlet Witch"s current status in the MCU would make a follow-up season difficult to imagine. If the series repeated the same format, it would also grow tired and stale with time. As a result, Marvel following up the show with two spiritual sequels in Agatha All Along and the untitled Vision series is the best possible way forward.
I have my fingers crossed for the rest of the series.
By retaining some of the same creatives in Agatha All Along, the series has done an excellent job of providing a similar experience to WandaVision without sacrificing any of the thematic resonance of what came before. This is truly a new story that follows, with new characters and themes to explore. Rather than retreading the same ground, Marvel has made the decision to press forward, and it is off to a good start. If Vision is half as good, the legacy of WandaVision can continue to be built on in engaging ways.

I will admit, I am getting a bit ahead of myself. Marvel has had some series in the past that have started strong and have finished poorly. However, Agatha All Along seems to be in good hands, and the series" trajectory is promising. Following WandaVision, I have been wanting an experience that followed up on that show"s success for years, and it seems Agatha All Along may finally be giving me that. I have my fingers crossed for the rest of the series, and the MCU"s future in television.
