Deadpool & Wolverine was the titular characters" first foray into the MCU, but it also claimed a massive box office milestone for the X-Men franchise. Digital downloads of Deadpool & Wolverine are now available to buy online, with a smattering of theater showings rounding out its highly successful box office run. While no official date has been set for the movie to join its fellow MCU installments on Disney Plus, estimates place it around early November, where it has the potential to soar as one of Marvel"s best-performing releases on the platform.
The countless cameos in Deadpool & Wolverine have left a lasting impression on the MCU as they capitalized on the possibilities of the multiverse in the MCU"s Multiverse Saga. In addition to the eponymous characters, several of Fox"s X-Men characters returned to the big screen for their MCU debuts as the movie stands as a tribute to their legacy in Fox"s X-Men franchise. This touching end to the X-Men franchise was a huge hit for the MCU and pushed past a major milestone for the X-Men as a whole.

This success also couldn"t come at a better time for the MCU, which suffered a series of financial and reputational blows throughout 2023. Not only has Deadpool & Wolverine helped to recuperate the losses that Marvel suffered after The Marvels became its biggest financial flop to date, but it was also a hit among critics and audiences, with its few detractors taking aim at its unabashed moments fan service. Without paying generous tribute to the film franchise to which it once belonged, however, it may never have broken past a satisfying milestone.

For its efforts, Deadpool & Wolverine has also helped the MCU to break $12 billion domestically and $31 billion worldwide. Its success is no real surprise given the incredible level of hype surrounding it in the lead-up to its release, but it remains to be seen whether Marvel can keep this momentum going with its next cinematic release, Captain America: Brave New World in February. For now, the studio should revel in the fact that Deadpool & Wolverine has left Fox"s legacy in a great state and continue planning for when Deadpool can next contribute another billion to its coffers.
