Lex Luthor Actor Reveals What To Expect From Superman & Lois" DC Show Finale

WARNING: This article includes SPOILERS from Superman & Lois season 4, episode 3.
Michael Cudlitz, who portrays Lex Luthor on Superman & Lois, gives a preview of the upcoming DC TV series finale. As The CW is getting ready to finish its time with the superhero genre, the Superman & Lois season 4 story has already put the audience through an emotional rollercoaster following the tragic death of the Man of Steel. With Lex still going after Superman"s family, the final season is going to get more challenging for Lois Lane, her sons, and their friends in Smallville.
Screen Rant recently interviewed Cudlitz about Superman & Lois season 4, including episode 3, which saw Clark Kent being brought back to life. When asked about the possibility of Superman and Lex finally getting to have a physical showdown later this season, The Walking Dead and Southland actor would only give the following tease:
Michael Cudlitz: I would have loved that...that would have been awesome.
However, when Cudlitz was asked if he was happy with the way wherever his version of Lex goes towards the end of the series, the star had high praise for the final episode of Superman & Lois. While also teasing that fans can look forward to seeing Lex in his famous battle armor, which was revealed in a recent trailer, long-time Superman & Lois viewers will get proper conclusions about all of the characters, stating the following:
Michael Cudlitz: I"m thrilled with where we went. I feel the finale is - as someone who became a fan of the show - wonderfully wraps up the entire story that we"re telling. An incredible amount of fan service is done to all of these characters and the fans, so no one feels left out. Everyone has an incredibly satisfying arc and resolution in the show, plus it"s [an] incredibly emotional arc for the entire series, not just the individual characters, the family, as to where they go on the journey, and where the boys wind up in their relationship with their dad, mom and with everyone else in the show. [I] couldn"t be happier with the show, and could not be happier with what they did with, I feel, an incredibly detailed, very specific, "What If...?" story with Lex. Starting from what if Lex was his driving force was pain from his loss of his daughter. How would that resolve, and how would that collide into the world of Superman & Lois and what would/could be the resolution of that? Based on everything we know, and wonderfully tying in the comics and the suit, which we"ve seen in the trailer, we know that"s coming: how do we get back to the Lex that is now from the Lex we started with who was this prisoner for 17 years and became who he had to become to survive in prison. How does he reestablish himself back in the world and take over the life that he had prior?
What Michael Cudlitz' Superman & Lois Comments Mean For The Finale Close Despite the big success behind Superman & Lois, it was always a big surprise that The CW drama was only given ten episodes to finish their storylines. However, even with a limited amount of hours, it is increasingly evident that the Superman & Lois series finale is something that the creative team didn"t take lightly when it came to crafting a conclusion for the characters, and it says a lot that Superman & Lois season 4 has been able to work many of them back into the overall arc, even if some have less screentime.
With the Superman & Lois" season 4 ending promised to be emotional, it is also remarkable that the writers are able to check off some of the bigger things that fans have wanted to see in this particular incarnation of the Man of Tomorrow. The fact that they got both Cudlitz as their Lex while also getting to explore The Death of Superman in the same season is definitely not an easy task, to say the least. For a show that had plans to run for at least seven seasons, it"s impressive to see how Superman & Lois season 4 is managing to fit so much into their shortest season ever.
Our Take On Michael Cudlitz' Superman & Lois Finale Comments Given the many changes that had to be made to the Superman & Lois season 4 cast, it is still great to hear that the series finale will give closure to these characters under these circumstances. It will also be fascinating to see how this version of the Superman mythology will close out the Man of Tomorrow and Lex"s long-time history. With seven episodes left for Superman & Lois season 4, the audience will find out sooner rather than later how The CW"s final DC TV show gets to finish its run.
Superman & Lois season 4 airs new episodes on Mondays at 8/7c on The CW.
