Though Spider-Man 2099 ends up playing more of an antagonist role in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, fans have still been completely smitten by Oscar Isacc’s hero. Beyond Miguel O’Hara’s good looks, his tragic backstory and his difference from the other Spider-People has drawn many to his character. Ever since getting teased at the end of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, fans have been celebrating his more prominent role in the trilogy.

One of the many ways fans have paid tribute to Spider-Man 2099 is through cosplay. In a post by user eothencosplay on Instagram, the Spanish cosplayer brings the Spider-Verse character to life. In an accurately form-fitting Spider-Man 2099 suit, eothencosplay embodies Miguel to a tee with his red eyes and brooding expression. What makes this cosplay especially stand out is the makeup, making eothencosplay look almost animated as if he is in the Spider-Verse movies himself.
Could Spider-Man 2099 Ever Make It To Live-Action?

Producer Amy Pascal confirmed in an interview with Variety that a live-action Miles Morales film is in the works. Though it doesn’t mean that the project will be a translation of the Spider-Verse necessarily, characters from across the Spider-Verse could still make appearances. The MCU’s current Multiverse Saga has proven that characters can appear in any capacity, so the Spider Society is not out of the question.

In Across the Spider-Verse, the concept of mixing live-action elements into animation was already explored. Clips of both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Mans were featured as examples of canon events. The animated characters even directly interacted with live-action people, including Venom’s Mrs. Chen and a variant of the Prowler played by Donald Glover. This makes it possible for Beyond the Spider-Verse to feature more mixed mediums like this, maybe even featuring live-action Spider-People like a Spider-Man 2099 counterpart.
Spider-Man 2099 has been a highly-anticipated character since his Into the Spider-Verse cameo, so his main role in Across the Spider-Verse was extremely well-received. With the great reception, Marvel may consider bringing Miguel O’Hara into a live-action project in the future. Though even if there are no current plans for Miguel O’Hara’s live-action debut, amazing cosplays like eothencosplay’s are enough to bring the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse character to life for now.
