This marked the first time a real replacement for the Avengers has been seen since Endgame, and it's possible What If...? season 2 won't be the last time this group springs into action.

This has already happened with Hayley Atwell's Captain Carter, though the variant featured in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' Illuminati team wasn't the same as her What If...? counterpart. Atwell could reprise the role of Peggy Carter in the MCU's future if the 1988 Avengers team appear in live-action, potentially joining Earth's Mightiest Heroes for the Multiverse Saga's final battles in Avengers 5 and Secret Wars in Phase 6.
The only actor who didn't return to voice their respective character in What If...? season 2, episode 2, "What If... Peter Quill Attacked Earth's Mightiest Heroes?," was Annette Bening, who portrayed Wendy Lawson's Mar-Vell, in Captain Marvel. In What If...?, Mar-Vell was voiced by Keri Tombazian, though it's possible that Bening could reprise the role for Mar-Vell's potential live-action return. De-aging technology would allow all the original actors to reprise their roles, despite the Avengers team originating from almost 40 years ago, so What If...? season 2's Avengers replacement could certainly debut in live-action before the Multiverse Saga is over.
