A Star Trek Voyager Hero"s Promotion Was Cut From Picard Finale, Says Showunner

"The Last Generation," Star Trek: Picard's series finally that Matalas wrote and directed, wrapped up the story of Admiral Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation in grand fashion. But Picard's finale also set up the future, including the promotion of Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan) to Captain of the new USS Enterprise-G.
Screen Rant took part in an interview roundtable with Terry Matalas, who explained that his first draft Star Trek: Picard season 3 finale script included huge Star Trek cameos, such as Voyager's Admiral Kathryn Janeway (Kate Mulgrew), that were cut due to budget concerns.
