A Star Trek Voyager Hero"s Promotion Was Cut From Picard Finale, Says Showunner

Warning: SPOILERS for Star Trek: Picard Season 3 Finale - "The Last Generation"Star Trek: Picard showrunner Terry Matalas reveals that a Star Trek: Voyager cameo was cut from the season 3 finale, including his promotion to Captain. "The Last Generation," Star Trek: Picard's series finally that Matalas wrote and directed, wrapped up the story of Admiral Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) and the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation in grand fashion. But Picard's finale also set up the future, including the promotion of Seven of Nine (Jeri Ryan) to Captain of the new USS Enterprise-G.
Screen Rant took part in an interview roundtable with Terry Matalas, who explained that his first draft Star Trek: Picard season 3 finale script included huge Star Trek cameos, such as Voyager's Admiral Kathryn Janeway (Kate Mulgrew), that were cut due to budget concerns. Matalas also said, "Harry Kim (Garrett Wang) had appeared at some point." Screen Rant then asked what rank Harry Kim would have been had he appeared. Read Matalas' answer below:
Terry Matalas: He was Captain, actually. I talked to Garrett [Wang] about it. He was very, very disappointed. He was Captain and yeah, that's all I can say about it.
