MCU"s Wolverine Play Risks Repeating A Fox Movie Problem

When it comes to Fox's X-Men franchise, the leading mutant has always been Wolverine with his healing factor and deadly adamantium claws. Now, Marvel Studios is gearing up to debut their own version of the X-Men franchise with the opportunity for a fresh slate. However, their first true X-Men project suggests an interest in doing the same thing with the mutant formerly known as Weapon X, though Marvel Studios needs to avoid recreating the same Wolverine problems made by Fox.
Without a doubt, Wolverine is one of the X-Men franchise's most popular characters both on-screen and on the page in the comics. Played by Hugh Jackman in 20th Century Fox's X-Men franchise, Jackman has been Wolverine far longer than any other actor in a superhero role. This achievement will only be cemented thanks to his confirmed appearance in Marvel Studios' upcoming Deadpool 3 starring alongside Ryan Reynolds, though it runs the risk of continuing a precedent that's arguably been problematic when it comes to the X-Men franchise overall.
