10 MCU Characters We"re Most Excited To See Charlie Cox’s Daredevil Interact With

Summary
  • Daredevil meeting Thor would introduce him to a whole new world and potentially form a close bond.
  • Daredevil could fight the Winter Soldier in flashbacks or meet Bucky Barnes in the present.
  • Yelena Belova could replace Black Widow in Matt Murdock's life — based on the comics — leading to an exciting dynamic.
Charlie Cox's version of Daredevil is firmly planted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and that means that some truly exciting encounters between Matt Murdock and other MCU heroes can now happen. Cox first played Daredevil in the three seasons of Netflix's Daredevil. After his acclaimed tenure as Matt Murdock in The Defenders Saga ended, Cox was brought back by Marvel Studios for 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home. While Daredevil and the other Marvel series on Netflix referenced MCU events and characters, that was Daredevil's first meeting with a Marvel Studios hero.
After Cox's Matt Murdock served as the lawyer of Tom Holland's Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man, the character would go on to meet multiple other MCU heroes, including Hulk, Echo, and She-Hulk — the latter whom he had a romance with. As filming is underway on Disney+'s Daredevil: Born Again and Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has teased that Daredevil will play a major role in the MCU going forward, there are several exciting MCU characters for Daredevil to interact with.

Chris Hemsworth's Thor is also one of the remaining original Avengers, and if he were to continue as part of the new version of the team, he could form a close bond with Daredevil, as Cox's Matt Murdock is a prime candidate to join Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
9 Daredevil Could Fight The Winter Soldier In Flashbacks Or Meet Bucky Barnes In The Present The Meeting Could Happen In: Daredevil: Born Again Or Thunderbolts Close In the pages of Marvel Comics, Daredevil and the Winter Soldier have had a few run-ins. The characters once fought due to a villain forcing Bucky Barnes to attack Matt, and like the Daredevil flashback featured in Echo, Daredevil: Born Again showing Cox's Daredevil fighting Sebastian Stan's Winter Soldier when he was still under Hydra's control would be a sight to behold. Daredevil could also make a cameo in Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts, showing up at the end of the film or in a post-credits scene to recruit Bucky to help stop Kingpin.
8 Yelena Belova Can Replace Black Widow In Matt Murdock's Life The Meeting Could Happen In: Thunderbolts Or A Possible Black Widow 2 Close Matt Murdock and Natasha Romanoff have one of the most exciting romances in Marvel Comics. With Scarlett Johansson done with the MCU, Marvel's new Black Widow, Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), could take her sister's place in that dynamic. Seeing the duo of skilled hand-to-hand fighters get together after a first meeting in Thunderbolts or a possible Black Widow 2 could lead to the MCU finally doing a version of the Captain America/Black Widow romance that never happened, as Matt and Yelena could have a similar dynamic.
7 Hawkeye Could Help Daredevil Take On Kingpin The Meeting Could Happen In: Daredevil: Born Again Or Spider-Man 4 Close Fisk will become the Mayor of New York City in Daredevil: Born Again. In the comics, that event led to Kingpin outlawing and hunting NYC's heroes. As Hawkeye has already dealt with Fisk in the past and is one of the MCU's original Avengers, having Jeremy Renner's Clint Barton on Daredevil's side against the villain would be wise. Hawkeye could add to the dynamic of the MCU's street-level heroes, serving as a team leader alongside Daredevil. A meeting at the end of Daredevil: Born Again season 1 or in Spider-Man 4 — which is rumored to adapt Devil's Reign — could happen.
Related Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye Return Tease Sets Up The Perfect Phase 6 Avengers Replacement Following his serious accident, Jeremy Renner has commented on his Hawkeye future, and the actor's reveal could have a major impact on the MCU. 6 Doctor Strange Could Introduce Daredevil To The MCU's Magic Corner The Meeting Could Happen In: Doctor Strange 3 Or Avengers: The Kang Dynasty Close Daredevil and Doctor Strange have had several adventures together in the comics, with the duo having a cool dynamic and friendship. Seeing the tag team made up of a street-level hero and the MCU's former Sorcerer Supreme would be a way of making up for Strange having to butt heads with Spider-Man in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Cox's Daredevil has always been grounded, so having him fight magical opponents with Strange would be interesting. Matt could also have a word or two with Strange about Elektra's mystical past.
5 Daredevil Could Find Someone Similar To Himself In Moon Knight The Meeting Could Happen In: Daredevil: Born Again Or Moon Knight Season 2 Close Oscar Isaac's Moon Knight shares some similarities with Cox's Daredevil. While Moon Knight was a good series, the character was clearly held back due to the show not being rated TV-MA. In Daredevil: Born Again — or a TV-MA Moon Knight season 2 — Daredevil and Moon Knight could bond over their shared trauma, with Marc Spector's multiple personalities offering a unique prospect for how Moon Knight's friendship with Daredevil could play out. The characters have fought against Kingpin and side by side in the comics, and the MCU needs to bring that to life.
4 Kate Bishop Could Bring Out She Hulk: Attorney At Law's Daredevil The Meeting Could Happen In: Hawkeye Season 2 Or Avengers: The Kang Dynasty Close Hailee Steinfeld's Kate Bishop was a breath of fresh air for the MCU. The character had a fun dynamic with Renner's Hawkeye, being the perfect example of how Marvel should handle its legacy heroes. Kate is known for her wit and charming persona, which could help bring out the lighter side of Cox's Daredevil that was seen during Matt Murdock's two-episode arc in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. While Daredevil: Born Again should once again give the character a darker story, it would be good for Matt to be able to not be contained to just a single tone.
Kate Bishop has also faced Kingpin in a one-on-one fight and survived to fight another day.
3 Sam Wilson's Captain America Could Recruit Daredevil For The Avengers The Meeting Could Happen In: Captain America: Brave New World Or Avengers: The Kang Dynasty Close Like Chris Evans' Steve Rogers before him, Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson, the MCU's Captain America, could become the new leader of the Avengers. As Cox's Daredevil is one of the MCU's most popular heroes, it would make sense for Captain America to recruit him to join the Avengers. Given how Matt Murdock and Sam Wilson share the same strong moral code, it would be exciting to see how they bounce off each other, with a possible deep friendship coming from that meeting.
2 Shang-Chi And Daredevil Could Be Part Of A New MCU Team The Meeting Could Happen In: Avengers: The Kang Dynasty Or Shang-Chi 2 Close Simu Liu's Shang-Chi is one of the MCU's best hand-to-hand fighters, if not the best. In the comics, Shang-Chi and Daredevil have been part of the Marvel Knights team, and the MCU could do the same. The Punisher was also a member of the comic book team, and as he will appear in Daredevil: Born Again, the MCU's Marvel Knights begin to form. In order to stop Kingpin's high-stakes goals, Daredevil could need to assemble heroes to help him take down the villain, and Matt having an ally who can beat even himself hand-to-hand, like Shang-Chi, is perfect.
1 Ms. Marvel Could Make Daredevil's MCU Role More Special The Meeting Could Happen In: Avengers: The Kang Dynasty Or Avengers: Secret Wars Close Iman Vellani's Kamala Khan is one of the MCU's best new additions. Ms. Marvel is the ultimate superhero fan, and her interactions with the new MCU heroes she has met have been extremely entertaining. Seeing Cox's Daredevil, a naturally darker character, interact with Vellani's bubbly Kamala could lead to some hilarious scenarios. As both characters have high chances of appearing in one or both of the upcoming Avengers films, fans could find out what the dynamic between Ms. Marvel and Daredevil could look like soon.
