Star Trek Theory: First Contact Set Up Picard Season 3"s Jack Crusher

Warning: SPOILERS For Star Trek: Picard Season 3, Episode 8 - "Surrender"Star Trek: Picard season 3 has referenced several moments from Star Trek: First Contact, suggesting that analyzing the beloved Star Trek: The Next Generation movie may reveal the answer of what's happening to Jack Crusher (Ed Speleers). First Contact tackled the lasting scars that assimilation into the Borg Collective had left upon the psyche of Captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart). First Contact's opening scenes revealed that Picard still had a nascent link to the Borg Collective, which warned him about the planned Borg invasion of Earth at the start of the movie.
Jean-Luc's experiences with the Borg has continued to define his story in Star Trek: Picard, but it's possible that it's also had an impact on his son, Jack. Throughout Picard season 3, Jack Crusher has experienced strange visions, heard mysterious voices, and has been able to enter the minds of Starfleet officers like Ensign Sidney La Forge (Ashlei Sharpe Chestnut). While there are multiple theories as to what's happening to Jack, the references to Star Trek: First Contact could suggest that Picard's son has inherited his father's connection to the Borg Collective.
