The Batman Smartly Avoided Nolan"s Biggest Dark Knight Trilogy Controversy

The Batman introduced the audience to a much younger version of the Caped Crusader, and it also avoided one of the biggest controversies of Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy. Following the not-so-successful Batman movies by Joel Schumacher, the Caped Crusader was given a new chance on the big screen thanks to Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, with Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman. Bale’s version of Batman was later followed by Ben Affleck’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League, and Warner now has another Bruce Wayne thanks to Matt Reeves’ The Batman.
The Batman follows a young Bruce Wayne (Robert Pattinson) in his second year of crime-fighting in Gotham City, so he’s still a bit rough around the edges but continues to make an effort to keep Gotham’s citizens safe. Pattinson’s Batman quickly stood out for his brutal fighting style, but unlike what this might have hinted at in trailers and more before the release of The Batman, this version of the Caped Crusader actually avoided one of the biggest controversies from Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, as Pattinson’s Batman stayed true to his “no killing” rule.
